Oh good grief.

So Paul says he didn't know that I wanted to go to Florida for Xmas and now he's like well if we can get flights - yeah right   So after lots of searching all over the bloomin' internet I find that I can get us there but not back before 5th Jan so that's gonna be out of the question.

I mean why didn't he give me a bit more notice....I'm completely gutted.

We will be discussing our holiday plans over the dinner table (that's where we find we have the best discussions and decision making processes).....but really how could he not have known that I wanted to go there for Xmas I mean I'd go for a long weekend if I could :):)

Looks like it's gonna be Cyprus which is better than a kick in the teeth but it sure ain't Florida :o

Let you all know in the morning how I got on.

Oh Sam :( - but poor Paul  , the poor lad deserves SOME Brownie points for at least comin up with the idea  (that's a pint yer owe uz,Paul)

I hope yer get summat sorted. If not this year why not meet me and V fer drinks there next year as she's just booked her trip of a lifetime today.

:D Hmmm, Sam - me thinks Paul's panicking about the Oz wedding invite and so's going for the cheaper option - Florida;)

Well - he is one of the male species after all and it is common knowledge that brains of these type of species engage rather more slowly than the female (ouch, don't hit me too hard guys;) ).

If you're getting out of this depressing country for Xmas, then wherever it'll be good:cool:

Well I'm now not even convinced about Cyprus, the weather could be dodgy and if that's the case there wouldn't be anything for us to do and I just feel that there is no point in spending money on a holiday that could be good (weather dependant)when we could spend the same money on a holiday to Florida where if the weather ain't so good we've got something to do.

I don't know maybe I should consider the LA option - We're both really down in the dumps etc. about it.

I wanted to go away for Christmas Day but we can't as we have Paul's mum to think about so that's why we were looking to go after Christmas Day. This will be our first festive season together and I just don't want to be stuck in boring old London. All of our friends have their own families and I haven't spent Christmas or New Year with my own family since I was 18 years old (we're not close and I've never been a fan of Xmas and Families)

So that's the depressing pickle I've got myself in. I also don't really want to book into a hotel in this country for New Years because I wouldn't know anyone and then I'd feel I'd have to make polite conversation etc etc.

I know I'm rambling here. I tried to get a room at DLP but the website says fully booked sooooo any ideas?

Yours miserably:(

I'm sorry you've not had much luck Sam - but keep trying, you never know, something may crop up!

Have you thought of the Canaries? I have been there for Christmas (to Lanzarote and Gran Canaria) and the weather is usually really nice :)
