deposit required on check in??

When staying onsite previously we have never left a credit card on file as we are not bothered about charging to our room preffering to use TC's instead. If we are renting points and staying at a DVC unit do we have to leave a security deposit, or is it just the same as at the regular resorts where CC is only needed for charging???
