Deposit required for HRH?

If I call the hotel directly - do they require a one day deposit?

I'm not sure of my dates so I thought I would make reservation for the first 3 and last 3 days of our dates and then cancel the ones we dont need. (I would cancel at LEAST 3 months out so I hope thats okay).

Since we need 2 rooms that would mean 4 deposits? One per room per night?

I feel so lost when it comes to Universal Resorts.

I have always been charged the deposits when I have called.

It used to be that you were never charged the deposit when you booked online. However, the last time I booked, after the change to the online db (where we can't bring up AAA rates anymore), my card was actually charged for an online reservation.

So, to make a long story short, I don't think there is any way anymore to get out of the deposit.

And yes, it is a deposit per room/per reservation.

You have up to 5 days before you travel to cancel with full refund.

The deposit is unavoidable. My card was charged within two days of booking online.
