Departure Day and Meal Timing

I am doing a final tweak on my dining reservations. :goodvibes

Our flight leaves MCO (to Canada) at 2 pm on our departure day. This means we have to be at the airport no later than noon that day.

I would really like to do a character breakfast on departure day as a last hoorah for our DD. There are two that could work...

- Cape May at 8:40 (can also get this one at 7:55)

- H&V at 8:30.

I think she would like Cape May characters better BUT I am not really familiar with how transportation works at WDW yet and I don't want to have to take a bus to take a boat, etc. etc. to get to Cape May from CSR. I am guessing there will be transportation right from CSR to HS? Also, how much of a delay might there be with seating? Is there a Magical Express schedule somewhere or when can I figure I need to be on it to make it there by noon?

I'm just concerned about timing, check out, catching the ME on time that morning.

This is during FD, so I am guessing the restaurants will be pretty busy and not running on time for the most part?

Thoughts or suggestions?

TIA! :)

Our experience is that your ME time will be assigned and it will be 3 hours prior to your flight. Sounds tight for breakfast but others may have hints that I don't know about.

Since your flight is international, I believe DME will be scheduled for pickup 4 hours before your flight. This means around 10am. It's suggested that you be at the stop 15 minutes before pickup which means 9:45. I would NOT book a breakfast ADR away from my resort for that morning, especially using Disney transportation. If you're willing to take a cab back to CSR, something that would be very easy to do at BC, then you'd still want to be walking out of Cape May (not paying your bill but actually exiting the restaurant to ask a CM to fetch you a cab) by 9:00 because that gives you 45 minutes to wait on the cab (maybe 5 minutes), get back to CBR (10 minutes) and wait in line at Bell Services to retrieve your bags (half hour minimum really is my personal preference on this). If you take the 7:55 ADR then that gives you an hour to be seated (assuming you're seated on time), eat, see the characters and pay your bill. It can be done (you might miss a character) but I certainly wouldn't want to be so stressed before leaving and you really are counting on everyting happening perfectly and you HAVE to spend the extra on a taxi.

I'd recommend Maya Grill for breakfast. This way you won't be rushed, can leave your bags in your room during breakfast and just go grab them when it's time to get to DME and not stress about transportation.

Ah, well. I was hoping it might work to cram in one more character breakfast but I think you are right that it will be too stressful if we try and rush through it. It will probably be too much rushing around for DD on a travel day where I need to keep her in reasonably good spirits for the flights home.

Incidentally, the reservation I do have is at Maya Grill for 8:30 am so I guess we'll keep that!

Thanks!!

I'm not even sure you can make that ADR. Unless you eat really quickly. Don't forget you have to be at the bus stop, ready to go, by 9:45.
