If I don't use magical express when arriving to Disney, will I be allowed to use magical express when I depart Disney? If so, how does the ME work when departing?

Thanks,

Scott

Yes, you can use it either way, as long as you are staying on-site. Call Disney to set it up.

Departure with DME:

Make sure you have a reservation.

The day before you depart, you'll get written notice at your room of the time of your bus pick-up the following day.

The rest of it depends upon what airline you're flying

If you're using a "participating airline:"
You can check in your luggage at your resort, and you won't see it again until it's on your home airport's baggage claim carousel. Take your checked luggage to your resort's Resort Airline Check-In desk no sooner than 12 hours before your flight and no later than 3 hours before your flight. The desk is open at each resort from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If your flight times don't allow you to use this service (that is, if you have a 7:00 a.m. departure, when the desk opens at 5:00 a.m. that will be too late for you sin e it's less than 3 hours before your flight, and 12 hours before your flight is 7:00 p.m. the day before, and the desk will be closed at that time), then you will need to follow the "non-participating airline" instructions below.

Then, just be at the front of your resort by about 15 minutes before the schedlued DME bus pick up. It'll be just you and your carry-ons. The bus MAY stop at up to 3 other resorts on your way to the airport.

If you're using a "non-participating airline:"
You will need to bring your checked luggage to the bus. You can bring it all the way there yourself, or Bell Services can get it from your room for you, but there are two things to keep in mind: 1) they may be running WAAAY behind, so either make an appointment or make the request early and have them store the luggage for you; 2) you will need access to your luggage before the bus arrives, so make sure there is time to get it from Bell Services whether or not they stored it for you. The bus driver (not Bell Services, not you) will load your luggage into the cargo bay of the bus.

You then ride to the airport (but may stop at up to 3 other resorts on thw way). When the bus arrives, the driver will ask everyone to stay seated while he unloads the luggage. When he's done, he'll say it's OK to get off the bus. You retrieve your luggage, and should also tip the driver for handling your luggage. After that, you get yourself to your airline's check-in counter, just like you'd do any other time at any other airport.
