deodorant- hand luggage or hold luggage

Just a simple question can we take spray deodorant, if yes where does it have to go in the hold or in the cabin?
Honestly i'm not thick i'm just having a bad day!!

Definitely not in the cabin. Think it can go in the hold, but it may be better to take roll-on, or just buy when your out there.

I always pack my deodarent in my suitcase and have never had any problems, but it's prob best to ring your airline to check.

I thought you couldn't take aerosols on a plane because of them being a pressurised container and highly inflammable. I usually just take a roll on in the hold luggage.

This dates from when the baggage hold wasn't pressurised.

Aircraft nowadays have presuurised baggage areas so the problem no longer exists. Aerosols like this are perfectly safe in your checked baggage.

Deordorant does not need to go in the hold luggage. It should be stored away.

The danger is if aerosols have never been used just give it a quick spray before you pack it and there shouldn`t be a problem.

I have never had a problem when it's packed in my suitcase but do double check with the airline to be sure(lol thats not sure the deoderant)

The taking in your hand baggage ban isn't anything to do with pressure or anything - I think it has to do with the prevention of terrorism - ie puncture the can and it could explode, or the 9/11 terrorists disabled part of the cabin in front of the cockpit by spraying mace around it.

Definitely pack it in your suitcase. Saw someone get stopped at Jersey with aerosol cans. They made quite a big thing about it and that was pre 9/11.

I normally pack it in my suitcase. Perhaps use roll on or pump deodrant from Body Shop.

I always use a Nivea Compact Pump Spray and the advantage is it's tiny so doesn't take up much room AND it works really well for 24 hours.

PS It's fine in hand luggage as well.

Hi have always put it in the suitcase (aerosol) . Dont wait till you get out there to buy - I think its the only toiletry thats crap compared to ours, all other toiletries are better in some way or another (as are most things you buy in the states) but i must say i was V dissapointed in the deodrant.
