deodorant for feet

i remember reading some threads about using deodorant on your feet. can someone tell me what kind, and does it really help? does it keep your feet dry & blister free? do you put foot powder over it?

I've read about that here too and I bought a can of power anti-perspirant and tried it with my walking sneakers and coolmax socks but I still got blisters. Some swear by it though. The deoderant should have anti-perspirant to work effectively.

For me, though, Bodyglide and Blistershield worked much better and also wearing sandals instead of sneakers.

It's to prevent blisters and chafing. It prevents friction.

Here's the website with info about it. You can get it at any sports store. It comes in a powder and a roll on.

I have the roll on for my chafing between my legs and sometimes for my hot spots with my sandals. But I've heard others have very good luck with the powder for their socks and sneakers.

wow! im definitely going to get that stuff, it looks great! i always wondered what to do about the chafting betwen my legs, i usually take powder breaks & powder-up, but then i get powder all over the place!!!! do you think CVS (a drugstore) would have it, or do i need to go to a sports store (like modells)?

The website has a store locator and you just plug in your zip code for the nearest one. If not, you could buy it online. I do not think CVS has it.

AARGH!!! The nearest store is 4 hours away and the website requires a minimum order of $23 and change. I will see if the local sports stores can order it for me.

As for the chafing problem...I just saw a commercial on TV for a new product by Monistat that does the same thing...not sure how well it works or how widely available it is...just saw the commerical last night.

as far as the feet, anti-perspirant helps to stop the sweating, not the friction. No sweatiness = less stinkiness.

as far as the chafing goes, DH has a big problem with that and I got him Arrid cream anti-perspirant. I got it at Walmart for about $2.00 and it comes in a little canister like shoe polish canister. You slather it on the chafing area and it keeps it dry which means no friction which means no chafing.

for the feet, I would carry around moleskin too and put it on the areas you think you'll blister or on the shoes itself.

I saw the Monistat chafing product at our local super Walmart last night. I also found a $2 off coupon for it. I plan on getting some before our trip in May as chafing was a problem last trip.
