Hi everyone. We've gone to Disneyworld dozens of times over the years. I know prices have gone up on everything, but the AIRLINE tickets from Denver to Orlando are ridiculous. Even on the so-called "discount" airlines.

Right now they're at about $338 a ticket (not including baggage fees). There are 7 of us traveling this time.

I know Southwest just put out a sale, but it was gobbled up quickly, and still not really that great of a deal at 149 one way, plus tax, yata yata.

I just don't know. I'm used to the $99 or $109 one way. That I can handle. But do you think I'm being unrealistic by waiting for this?

Our trip dates are 8/31-9/8. Dates are non-negotiable because college kids don't want to miss more than 2 days (tues, thurs).

Great to be here. And thanks for your advice in advance.

Yes ;)

Unfortunately, the days of stupid low airfares have passed, since Southwest has the market share they wanted (and positive reputation) and are now charging the same as the legacy airlines. Airfares are normalizing, so expect them to rise even more before they level out.

Ick. Thanks, Chris. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and pay it. I think I'll wait till next Tuesday and have that be my deadline to just go ahead and buy them as I'm tired of this hanging over me.

Thanks again.
