Denver Colorado people

We get the Denver stations on TV. I saw a comercial for The Denver Renasance Festival. I looked at the site but couldnt get a lot of info. Have any of you been to it? Did you like it? Would it be worth it for us to drive 3hrs to Denver for it?

Please all info would be great, good or bad.

It's fun but I think it is kind of expensive. It's in Larkspur which is between Castle Rock and Colorado Springs. There is a campground (Jellystone Park) nearby that you could make it a fun weekend trip and do some of the tourist spots in CO Springs as well.

It's fun and a bit on the expensive side, but not my personal cup of tea. I live about 15 minutes from it. Like Pooh_Friend#1 said, you certainly could combine it with some activities in the Colorado Springs region and make a mini-vacation out of it. That would be a fun trip - we did that when we were kids and had a great time.

it is very fun once or twice and compared with any other tourist attraction it is not as pricy as others may lead you to believe. Tickets are under $20, kids are under $10 and sometimes free with right coupon, food is same price as you would find at Denver Zoo, Colorado Rockies, etc..., only here you get better quality and better selection. My only gripe with it is it doesnt change. After you have been 1 or 2 times over 1 or 2 years there is no real need to go back unless you really are into renaissance events.

We think it's worth it. It is very big. Lots of free entertainment. Good food, drinks and beer. We used to drive down from Wyoming to go to it. Now we live about an hour away and we go every year.

Could you tell me a little about what goes on. Is there shows, crafts etc? We go to Denver and Colorado spgs. a lot. Kids want to go to Water world again.

There are tons of shows - most are kid appropriate - a couple are not ("Puke & Snot" and Dead Bob)

The shows are very comedic - there should be a show guide on their website. There are camel rides, elephant rides and lots of Shakespearean carnival games like knife throwing, tomato throwing at a man who hurls insults (Vegetable Justice), lots of shops with loads of souvenirs.

There is jousting throughout the day at the arena, with a final jousting tournament at the end of the day.

Not much in terms of crafts, unless you want to buy something. The festival will wear you out. It is located on the side of a hill in the forest outside Larkspur.

If you have never been, you will not be disappointed!

I love the Colorado Renaissance Festival! There's lots of entertainment - the shows, jousts and lots of various exhibitions. Tons of art and crafts, good food and just all around fun.

I think it's all really family-friendly. Even the Puke & Snot show, while maybe not for everyone, really isn't adult-only. It's your basic "toilet humor." I'm surprised to see the show still going on - I wonder who they got to replace Snot because he died a couple years ago.

I would absolutely go. It's a blast. Not cheap, but to me, totally worth it.
