Dentist says DD7 missing 4 permanent teeth. Is this a concern?

My DS12 had those exact 4 teeth extracted, in the summer, to prepare for braces that he had put on in August. Too bad there's no way to donate healthy teeth to someone ------> lol

As far as missing teeth go, BOTH of my DSs have only THREE wisdom teeth! Our orthodontist found this out after doing the panoramic x-rays. They are both missing the same wisdom tooth. That's good to know since eventually they'll probably have those removed, as well.

Well I think the going rate around here is 3000.00 per implant. BUT heck they can't get them for another 8yrs for older dd and 13yrs for younger dd. Who knows the cost then?? I hope there is something better.

As far as them keeping the baby teeth well the teeth that are missing are the canines (on my girls)? I forget what they called them. Laterals I think. They fell out because of where they are. No chance of keeping them in. Really stinks.

Younger dd in addition to missing the 4 permanents is ALSO missing the 4 baby teeth. So she actually is missing 8 teeth altogether.

I'm missing at least 1 adult tooth..maybe more. I still have the baby tooth in my mouth. I'm 25 now. My dentist said that it should stay as long as I take care of my teeth. It's one of my back teeth (not sure which one). I guess this situation is more common than I thought.

Sherree: It always great to get information from a specialist. Thank you for the information. Do you REALLY think it would be beneficial for DD to see an orthodontist already? I figured they wouldn't be able to do much for her until she has most of her adult teeth in. She only has 2 so far.
