Reason #17
17. I wore a size 14 skort to church today.

SIZE 14!!! :earseek: I found a really cute teal skort in Walmart last night. It was a size 14 so I went to put it back on the rack. On a whim I decided to try it on to see how much more I had to lose until I hit size 14. To my surprise I slipped it over my behind and it buttoned right up!!! I couldn't believe it. I got all giddy. :rotfl: I'm sure it is made big and that if I wash/dry it I will never fit into it again. But I freaking bought it anyway and felt like a million bucks wearing it today! Everyone else can celebrate with food/cake...I'll definitely take celebrating with smaller clothes. ::yes::

P.S. I am soooo sore from yesterday!!! Ouch! :rotfl2:

:woohoo: :Pinkbounc  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :yay: :dance3: :bounce:

I am sooooo happy for you!! Embrace your size 14 skort!!! Wear it every day!! That's what I did when I went down in size!! :rotfl:

Dena - congrats on the skirt!! I know how motivating that can be....way to go!!! And 2 miles in 34 minutes....that is a great walking pace...nice job!! 30 min is exactly where you want to be and will do wonders for you!

Keep up the great work!

:grouphug: YEAH DENA!!!! :cheer2: I'm so proud of you ! You got out there and walked :cheer2: you ran the race :cheer2: . Your going GREAT!

And super huge congrats on the skirt :goodvibes . I'm really happy for you! :cloud9:

June 6, 2006- Mixed it up a little and rode bike for 30 minutes. 4 miles. It was fun and helped get me mentally get used to adding on an extra mile to our 3 mile route. I really liked it as cross training. Hopefully I'll feel up to running tomorrow! :goodvibes

Reason #18
18. Being healthier is a gift of love to my family in case I ever need surgery.

Last year my dh underwent jaw surgery, and I felt very relieved that he was healthy so there was very little risk of losing him under anesthesia. I know it's kind of morbid, but I felt very comforted by this at the time. I want my body to be a healthy weight so that I don't cause my loved ones stress and extra worry in case anything ever happens to me.

You go, girlie...you're out there & MOVIN!!! :moped:

Reason #18 isn't something I've ever thought about, but you are SO right! Yes, we want to look good, and feel good - but we also NEED to for our families.

Thanks again, Dena...I love it when you make me think! :teeth:

:cheer2: Hi Dena! Great job on doing some XT and biking. What a wonderful addition to your exercise routine!!!! SOOOO proud of you!

And you know what...when it comes down to it the health factor is really a HUGE deal! Thanks for reminding us of the most important reason to stay fit and healthy...our families! :grouphug:

Hi Dena!

Just checking in to see how you are doing this week! Wondering if all is going well? You're doing great girl...keep it up!!! :cheer2:

Rode my bike for 30 mins on Tuesday. DH has been working nights again so it had thrown our schedule off plus all the rain from the hurricane hasn't helped. We were going to to running today and then a thunderstorm started. But I'm keeping a positive attitude about it and I know that I'll get back into it soon. No worries!

Hey Dena...you're doing great. I'm glad Alberto was only rain for you. I was worried about your area. Don't lose your momentum...you're doing great!!

Sounds like things are going well, Dena. Have a great week this week!

Glad Alberto didn't impact you too badly. I'm praying FL will remain Hurricane free when I spend 19 days there in July, but........

Hey Dena...hope all is going well with you! :wave2:

OK lady....I caught ya!! I saw you on Scott's thread.....

WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU??? WE MISS YOU!!!

Yeah Dena, thanks for the post in my journal...then I come here and no updates??? :)

Actually, I do hope everything is alright with you...let us know how you're doing when you get a chance...we miss ya'!

Oh my. It seems I've gotten addicted to MySpace and it is taking away from my disboards time. :) I'll try to be better. But if any of you have a myspace let me know!!! Spoken like a true addict, huh?

So I went on vacation knowing I was going to leave the diet at home (it was to freaking Hershey, PA for goodness sake) and gained 9lbs in 8 days. More than a pound a day. Amazing isn't it? But I came home and went back on phase 1 of South Beach for a week and lost it all back plus a pound! Did I mention that I love South Beach?!? The week of phase 1 was tough, but it did get rid of my cravings. I jokingly told my mom, "The reason you lose all of your cravings on Phase 1 is because you lose your will to live."

I'm getting over a rough cold and now DH is just getting it so exercise is still sidelined. I know, this is getting really old. But I am still trying. I'll definitely report when we get out there again. Thanks so much for hanging in there with me you guys. I know I'm such a downer because of the lack of exercise, but I'm not giving up. And I am really proud of you all for doing so well. I'll be right back in there with you all soon. Stay tuned!

And here's a couple of reasons for ya...

Reason #19
19. I slipped a pair of size 18 pants off today without unbuttoning them!!!

I couldn't even fit into a size 18 when I started and to slip them off. Wow! I'm now still consistantly wearing a size 16 and fit into very few 14s. So onward and downward I go! :yay:

Reason #20
20. So I can have a healthy second pregnancy.

That's right. DH and I are trying for another one. It's a secret so shhh don't tell! ! :ssst: So I don't know where that leaves the marathon, but we're going to train for it just in case God doesn't bless us with a little one before then. We're so excited! I can't wait! Our DD is 2 and is just adorable with little babies. She loves them. She wants to hug them, feed them bottles, give them blankets, etc. It's so cute. Even if we get pregnant before the marathon we are still going down and starting the race and then cheering everyone else on. So I'll let you know if we have any new additions.
