Hi all,
I have asked my parents to join us for our Halloween cruise, and they are leaning toward coming. My kids would really love that. Our problem, though, is airfare! Luckily we live in GA so we drive to the port, obviuosly thats not an option for them. Is there any deals for DEN to MCO or really rather COS (SPrings) to MCO. I feel like I have looked everywhere, but I know my buds at the DIS probably have some suggestions. Anyone going from DEN or COS? What airfare are you paying and through who?
TIA
Amanda

If I were you, I would check out JetBlue. I've never flown it out of Denver, but it's quite nice and the flights are cheap.

Or check United -- since Denver's their hub, they've probably got some sort of deal.

What are your planned travel dates? I'll look around for you and see what I can find.

Thanks for the reply SoonerKate. They need to be in MCO at least by the 24 of Oct, then departing no sooner than 1pm on Nov 1st. Or anytime in the 2nd. Ill check out jetblue now :-)

I'm in a Denver suburb and for some reason Denver is a really expensive market. Deals are few and far between.

If they are willing to travel with connections, you might be able to find something for 230rt each. Once or twice have seen Delta at 200.

The only two carriers that go nonstop from Denver are Frontier and United. I don't check the Springs but doubt that anyone is nonstop from there.

Best advise is to check ORBITZ daily and also check Fontier's website. If they are seniors, Frontier still has a senior fare which they will also give to one senior's companion. Don't think other carriers to that anymore.

I caught a one day sale in April right when Fairytale package came out and got two tickets for 250 (with sr discount) and 276 for third ticket. Nonstop was pretty much a must with my DM(70).

Good luck! Sharon

There are deals to be found though. Next friday we are leaving from Denver on Delta. Round trip tickets were $176.00 incl. tax. The wierd thing is that it was cheaper on Expedia than on Delta's website. We have gone to Orlando 4 times in the last 3 years and have never paid more than $200 ticket. A neighbor is going in September and paid $123 incl taxes! Sign up for travelocity's fare watcher and check Orbitz, Expedia and QIXO.com regularly. Good luck!:Pinkbounc

Denver is usually cheaper than COS, but you never know. I check the rates often on Travelocity. Last time we went we paid $175.00 roundtrip. The cheapest rates I've found have been on Travelocity. Another suggestion would be to try Priceline. I've never used it for air before, but we've used it a lot for hotels and have gotten some really great deals. Unfortunately Denver isn't too cheap to fly out of, but there ARE deals out there. Good luck!

I'm traveling MCO to Denver next week and paid $365 through Travelocity. Yikes. I didn't have the benefit of planning well in advance, though, since it's for business.

How far ahead did you guys buy those <$200 tickets? Did you plan your vacation around cheap fares, or were your dates already set?

We got our tickets about 2 months before we traveled. We planned the trip dates first and then kept watching the fares on Travelocity. We waited for a good deal and took it when it came. It seems like the fares change really frequently, so you gotta keep an eye on them to get a good deal.

We live in Colorado Springs and have found Denver (DEN) is cheaper than the Colo. Spgs. airport.

I don't check the Springs but doubt that anyone is nonstop from there.
This is correct. There are no nonstop flights from the Colorado Spgs. airport. We have to fly nonstop for our trip in December, right now I've found two adult tickets for $773. Yikes!! (That's flying on Frontier airlines out of Denver on Dec. 14th, arriving at MCO.)

Amanda,

I checked out Travelocity and there is a fare of $353.00 RT for 2 adults from Denver to Orlando. It is through Northwest Airlines. They leave DEN at 8:30am on 10/23/03 and arrive at MCO at 3:49pm. The return flight is at 1:15pm on 11/01/03 and arrives in DEN at 5:53pm. If you need additional info, please PM me.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Barbara,
I have since talked to my mom, and she states DEN is out the equation. Not having snow in Georgia, I seem to forget that other states get it! LOL SHe does not want to take the chance that she will have snow trouble during that time of year (Oct), but I am heavily on the lookout for 2 tickets from COS to MCO. If anyone can help please let me know :-)
