For this upcoming trip we might be able to get a room at a deluxe and i was wondering which deluxes are your faves and why *looking in to poly, akl. yc, and gf mostly* ANy info will be appriciated

TIA

My favorite deluxe resort out of those you listed would probably have to be the YC. The pool there is spectacular and the proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk and a short boat ride away from MGM is awesome! The rooms are big and the view we had of the pool and the Boardwalk was breathtaking. Go withthe YC.

Boy, that's a really hard one. I'd have to say it's a toss up between YC/BC and AKL. The main factor is if you have a car and how many are in the party. The rooms at AKL are somewhat smaller, and it's a little remote, but the resort itself in unbelieveable. If you do'nt ahve a car or have more than 2-3 people, do the YC.

BWI without question. Great theming, always something to do, walk to Epcot.

I would have to choose the Dolphin because I get the great teacher rate. I just love the location. Out of the ones you listed I would choose yaht or beach club. The pool there is the most awsome of them all. The location is the same as Dolphin, so you can walk to Epcot and MGM or take a nice a/c boat ride. We watched fireworks from our hotel room. It was the most magical trip ever. I sappose the boardwalk also has the wondeful location, but it's a bit too busy for me and I like the theming at yaht/beach much better. If you have the money to do it, I highly reccomend this location. You really can't lose with any of the deluxes, but epcot is my favorite location. Good luck!

My favorite deluxe has always been the Poly. I love that lush tropical theme and the new pool just adds to the resort. To me the best experience in WDW is watching the MK fireworks from the Poly Beach.

Polynesian is my all time favorite due to wonderful childhood memories, themeing, monorail and views. Dolphin is my second favorite deluxe - to us, it has just as much "magic" as all other Epcot resorts and we can usually get it at a MUCH better rate.

Dolphin...hands down. I've stayed at all the resorts, including the deluxes, (w/exception to the AKL lodge). The reason being, quieter/less harried than others...AND the STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST PROGRAM! I just made my flight ressies for our Summer 2002 trip on Delta...nonstop to Orlando, First Class...USING the points accumulated during our WDW DOLPHIN stays! No other Deluxe gives you AWARD points (& flexibility) for staying, which even permits you to achieve FREE stays, car rentals, airline tickets, dining certificates, etc.! It's the #1 reason behind the DISNEY Dolphin Choice for me...and everything else is a close second! Good luck!:)

I'll cast my vote for the Poly. We just returned, my Mom stayed at the GF four nights. While the rooms there were divine, I thought it was a little to "classy" for our family. Your family might be different and feel comfortable there!

Haven't stayed at the YC and do have it on my list of places to try, but with a 4 year old and my personal love of the MK, the MK resorts, particularly on the monorail line, will always get top rating. It's just not the same (or as convenient) taking a bus to the MK.

WL - love every aspect of this resort, great restaurants, wonderful pool, best theming.

YC/BC - The best pool on WDW property, rooms are some of the largest on property, close proxity to EPCOT, enjoyable strolls around the boardwalk, Very Good Restaurants!!

AKL - similar to WL, just so different it is an escape, close view of the animals

The deluxes I have stayed at are the BWI, GF, WL, AKL, and Poly. I'll try to briefly give my opinion of each. :)

BWI--has a great location with such a short walk to Epcot; I love the room decor and the relaxed but fun feel of the resort; I always feel tranquil and relaxed when I'm there; I would definitely stay there again

GF--this is my favorite WDW resort; I love the ambience and the way the CM's tell you to have a grand day all the time; I also feel that it's a good value, since you get some perks that you must stay in a concierge level room to get at the other resorts (like bathrobes and a stocked mini-bar--stocked with everything, not just alcohol); the rooms are very large; the resort has a lot of nice amenities like the marina, spa, etc.; I felt so pampered the whole time I was there; monorail is so convenient

WL--I stayed here at Christmas time, and the tree in the lobby was gorgeous; the rooms are small for a deluxe; the theming is quite well done, though the woodsy theme isn't necessarily my favorite; felt the transportation was pretty fast, but I prefer the monorail or a walk to get to a park instead of the WL's bus or boat transportation; many kids really enjoy this resort

AKL--this is my second favorite after the GF; I am not an animal lover, so I wasn't prepared to like this resort as much as I did; the theme is amazing; it is incredible to see animals right outside your balcony (if you have a savannah view); the buffet restaurant here is great (Boma); the CM's are very friendly; you really feel like you have escaped stress and everyday life when you're here; bus trips were a little long since the AKL is sort of separated from the other parks except AK; I will definitely stay here again

Poly--this resort is very laid back and friendly; the monorail is great for transportation; the restaurants here are wonderful; the landscaping is gorgeous and relaxing; we had a concierge room with a view of the castle that was amazing (#1512); I did not love the room decor--the colors were a little too muted for me; the concierge staff was incredibly friendly, as was the rest of the Poly staff; you feel like part of the Poly family when you stay here; I would stay here again, but only in concierge

I hope this helps! :)

We have stayed at the following Boardwalk 1 bdr villa, WL and GF.

My order of favorites is
BWV
WL
GF.

I love the villas because of the location, the large room, kitchen, jacuzzi and washer and dryer in the room but they are hard to get on a discount now, so they are expensive.

WL - love the theming

GF - liked the decor but I think I like the coziness of the WL better.
