Deluxe vs. Standard Dining Plans

We are going to be in WDW December 7-19. I'm trying to determine if we should do the deluxe or standard dining plan. We have used the standard dining plan on three other occasions, and will also be using it for our free dining September trip.

I guess I should say that while we are there in December we are looking for an opportunity to relax and enjoy the holiday season. I'm thinking that we are going to eat in many TS restaurants anyways, and think that the deluxe might be a better deal. I know it is a lot of food, but trust me, my DH can eat! :)

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

We ate well last year under the regular DDP, this year we are upgrading to the Deluxe. The main reason is more credits. We love to try food and want to be able to experience more 2 credit places, which with the 3 credits a day on the deluxe plan, this will be possible.

That's what we're doing as well - we're going for a week. The dining has always been part of what we enjoy - we live in a small town with no decent restaurants! So this time we're upgrading to the deluxe and going to eat at 4 2 credit restaurants that we've never tried before because they were too expensive for us. We always had sit down lunches & dinners anyway because we like the breaks. We'll have 6 credits left over to use for breakfast - which we aren't big breakfast eaters so we'll either share or I'll let DH have them and eat oatmeal or something! That's what I normally have anyway.

If you enjoy sitting and eating and are not in a rush to do things - then I think it's a good plan. For commando people - it would drive them crazy!

Thanks for the feedback so far. After reviewing the DDP brochures today I definitely think we are going to go for the Deluxe. It will give us a chance to try some new restaurants and some 2 credit TS restaurants that we probably wouldn't eat at otherwise. Since we are just going to take this trip at a slow pace, it will be fun to eat at a variety of places.

Now, I've got to start working out the daily itinerary...any suggestions for restaurants? :)

Why don't you try the Deluxe Plan in September to see if you like it or not.. since you only have to pay the difference.. then decide which you want for December then?
