deluxe vs moderate

As others have mentioned, it's all relative as to close to parks, none of the resorts are close to all the parks. The buses are the buses, you are going to end up riding one no matter where you stay unless you are driving, you are going to get good or bad service no matter where you stay. The larger moderate resorts have multiple bus stops so you are never really very far from a stop. While the moderates might look huge, I would be willing to bet if you were in one of the rooms farthest from the lobby in one of the deluxe resorts, the walk isn't any further. Have you thought about a split stay? A couple or 3 nights at a moderate and a couple or 3 nights at a deluxe? Best of both worlds. If you can get those deluxe nights at Swan/Dolphin you might save some money over BW or BC/YC, you have to really shop it and pay attention to the hidden costs. Have you checked general discounts, sometimes if you can get a general discount using Orbitz then stack their 15% discount if they are offering one, you will end up saving more than if you use your AP discount. I've had an AP for 5 years, go at least twice a year and the AP discount has come out better twice in all that time.

Thanks! I usually do use Orbitz with their 15% off code but for the first time ever, Disney's prices are cheaper. Surprisingly! Maybe it's just the time of year I'm going (end of March this year).

Well, looking within 90 days, it's not a matter of a rental agency having points, its if there are any rooms to be had. DVC is designed to run at full occupancy, and even in low season inside 90 days pickings will be tough.

I think CSR fits your criteria. Beautiful main pool, nice quiet pools in each village, bus stops located throughout resort, centrally located to all parks, good dining & nice rooms. I am a deluxe person but for last minute splurge trips I find CSR is a great alternative.

I normally recommend the Contemporary / Poly. But in your case... Solo traveler, time at the parks, I would do the Boardwalk. Swan as a backup if you want to keep cost down. There's just something about having so much in a densely packed area, especially for a solo traveler that wants to come and go. I would do things like take the bus to MK in the morning, spend a few hours there, then monorail down to Epcot and walk home.

If not there and the Deluxes are too expensive, then POR/POFQ but it sounds like you've done these before.
I agree. Just back from ten nights at Bw. I've stayed at nearly every resort and I loved this location.

If you want 24 hour room service, fine dining, people opening doors for you, bath in every room, and (spas like I do) then deluxe if not then somewhere else will be fine. Have you got your own car? then maybe even the Waldorf would be good.
