It's so hard making decisions. Years ago we stayed at the Beach Club. We are FINALLY going back but not sure where to stay. This time around I will need two rooms (my family grew). After staying at a deluxe, the Beach Club I am wondering if saving money and staying at a moderate will disappoint me (I LOVED the Beach Club, but then that was my first time staying inside Disney). If I decided to splurge the money and stay at a deluxe, should I try the Boardwalk or stick with what I already enjoyed? I live in New Jersey so do I really need to stay at the Boardwalk? Should I just be smart and save the money and stay at the CBR? This is probably my only change of taking the WHOLE family to Disney and want to make it right without being stupid and going way way way over budget. No matter which way I go, it will cost, I know that. Has anyone stayed at a Deluxe (they loved) and then because of budget stayed at a Moderate?

ok not to add more to your confusion. BUT! if you need two rooms, I'd say you have to stay at a home away from home resort. A one or two bedroom would do the trick for about the cost of a delux, maybe less, plus you get the full kitchen so your big clan can dine in sometimes and save the expense on food. Depending on how big and how old your family is, you could stay in a FW cabin. with the aaa discouunt its barely more than a moderate. It has bunk beds and a double in the bedroom and another double murphy bed in the family room.

I go back and forth between the moderate and deluxe resorts on every trip because I can't afford the whole time to be at a deluxe. I split my stay between the two levels. One year we went from the Grand Floridian to the Wilderness Lodge and ended at Coronado Springs. It was a great trip. There are good things about almost all the resorts. If you think that two rooms at the Beach Club is on the verge of being way to much then maybe step a bit down to the Wilderness Lodge. It is less expensive and the rooms are a bit smaller but it is still a deluxe. Still the savings of two rooms at a moderate is allot of money. The CBR is really fun and colorful.

If you rent points from a DVC member, you can almost cut the cost of a deluxe in half.

I also strongly suggest you look into renting points from a DVC member. Just go to the DVC rent/trade board and you'll find out lots of info. You could still stay at the Beach Club but stay on the Beach Club Villa side in a one or two bedroom, depending on how large your family grew.

When on a non-Disney vacation I love staying at deluxe hotels, however at Disney I prefer to stay at the Value resorts and free up the pocket book for eating at nice places, and enjoying not worrying about spending too much money everytime someone says I'm hungry or I need a water or can I have an Ice cream etc. We spend very little time at the hotel so this works out good for us.

If you need to watch your money, I would go with 2 rooms at either PO-FQ or CBR. I don't think after your stays in deluxe resorts that AS will do it for you. JMO!:) If you do decide to stay with deluxe accomodations, why not try one of the MK resorts this time? I would recommend the Poly!

The moderate resorts at Disney are so lovely that I can't justify staying at a Deluxe, unless obtaining a superb rate. The moderates also tend to have more expansive grounds, ideal for families and children. Of the moderates CSR offers the most ammenities and outstanding service.

Doesn't CSR have suites? I'm not sure what they go for, I think in the neighborhood of $275/nite. Do the suites ever go down in price with a code? Something makes me think they don't....anyone?

I do enjoy staying at the deluxes (CR, Dolphin and BWI) - I have stayed at POFQ and POR and was never disappointed by the mods. However, I am not a fan of the value (ASSp was my last stay).

How many people are we talking? We love the CR Garden Wing rooms for our family of five - lots of room - comfy beds for everyone - queens, not doubles. We only get one room, and with the codes, it is usually much less than two rooms at a moderate, with the monorail access, etc., that come along with the deluxe hotel. The rooms are substantially bigger than the Beach Club room, for less money.

We have also stayed at AKL Concierge this last December. My DH and youngest daughter really wanted to try this resort, but it was either two standard view rooms, or one deluxe savannah view room - it was cheaper to go with the deluxe. I checked with CRO, and it was only about $35/night more for the concierge room. I believe it was 229/night plus tax. We were able to eat breakfast in the concierge lounge - huge selection and nutritious food! It would have cost us more than $35 for the 5 of us to get toast and coffee at the food court! My girls loved the selections of milk and juice which were always available. They also gave us as many water bottles to take with us as we wanted, so we would each get one in the morning to take to the parks.

It may be worth checking the codes when your trip gets closer - they are usually released about 2 months prior.
