Am I reading something wrong? On the 2006 rack rate site on the DIS it appears that the Value Season for Deluxes no longer includes mid-summer like it did in years past. Is this a mistake? We have always stayed with value rates in July/August at deluxe resorts. I'm wondering if WDW has made a change for those times to regular rates.

Value season changes pretty much yearly, although usually not quite so drastically as that.

I believe they look at the current season's resort and park attendance numbers and adjust their resort seasons to reflect the market. The parks and the resorts have been hopping all summer long this year.

I just called WDW and the very nice CM said that value season for the deluxe resorts over the next summer begins 7/5/06 and extends through 10/4/06. She also stated that the value seasons don't change drastically from year to year, maybe only by a day or two.

A little off topic: I also found out something very interesting. I was under the impression from what I've read on the DIS that they no longer take reservations more than 15 months or so out. The CM said that it only applies when booking a package, not room only. So in my particular case, we'll be taking our next trip to WDW in July '07 so I can go ahead and book our room. Last trip I made reservations 2 1/2 years in advance which made it so much easier to budget. Woo hoo, ALK and BC, here we come!

Value season changed drastically this year for November. This is our sixth November Jersey week in a row, and every other year it was value season. Between Jersey week and Soap Weekend attendance has been up, so they changed November to regular season. So we're paying the increase to regular and only a 10% AAA discount instead of 15%.

Oh no. Yup, discounts are becoming fewer and farther between yet we still keep coming back. I've only been once, but before we even got home from our last trip, we were already planning the next one. Hopefully '07s value season will stay pretty much the same for the summer and back to value for November.

Hope you get value season. We've gotten the double whammy this year with the no value, no codes and DS 11 who still eats kids meals will have to pay adult prices. That's a real waste of money. Enjoy your planning.
