What is the difference between the deluxe and regular ddp??

Is the deluxe worth the extra $$?

The regular dining plan includes 1 snack, 1 counter service, and 1 table service / day on the plan. The table service ONLY includes the entree and desert along with a beverage.

The deluxe plan includes 2 snacks and 3 table service meals / day on the plan. Each of the table service meals DO provide appetizer if appropriate. In other words, there isn't an appetizer when used for breakfast.

The deluxe plan does allow you to still eat counter service but it will use one of the table service meals.

For the little difference in price, it was worth it for us. But every family will have to make their own decision.

For Our family the deluxe was a no brainer. On the regular plan we would pay out of pocket for Cali Grill and a character breakfast and always buy extra drinks to go with the snacks so the cost difference was like $50 for 5 nights and we get to eat TS the whole time.

This is exactly right. I just wanted to add that the deluxe plan takes a little more time away from the parks if you don't plan it correctly. In other words, the best thing to do is have 2 meals per day and use the snacks for the 3rd meal. For example, I know my family can't possibly eat 3 sit down meals per day so I'm planning a sit down breakfast, snacks for lunch and a signature meal for dinner which takes up 2 credits each.

Also, a few other things to consider: You'll have to space out your meals so you won't always be full and this doesn't work out too great with young children especially if you do plan to do 3 sit downs per day. In this case, you'll have to eat the last meal late and kids will have a hard time staying up that late.

If you don't plan on driving, and you are relying on Disney transportation, you may want to just go ahead and do regular DP because its very difficult to get from resort to resort on Disney transportation.

To get the money's worth, you'll need to do mostly sit down table service meals. If you like faster counter service, you probably won't get the value of the plan.

If this is your first trip or you have picky eaters, the deluxe plan may not work out for you. I actually like the deluxe plan and recommend it unless you have very small kids, don't eat much or this is your first trip.

The Deluxe Plan includes 3 meal credits per night. There is no TS/CS distinction on that plan. There are also 2 Snack credits per night on the plan and each person on the Deluxe plan receives a Resort Refillable mug which can be filled at your resort for the length of your stay. It is true that any table service meal ordered on this plan can include an appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic beverage. Beverage choices may vary by restaurant.

If you expect to eat more than one TS meal per day or to eat a number of places requiring 2TS credits then the Deluxe plan warrants close consideration. If you'll only likely eat one per day the the standard plan will be fine. We had the standard plan last year(included appetizers) and paid for one TS meal because we chose a 2TS place for our first night dinner. The meal we paid for was a breakfast buffet totaling around $20 per adult. We also paind $10 for the kids meal at the 2TS place; cheaper than using his credits.

We are going with the basic plan when we go in June because our kids are not big eaters and we would not get our money's worth.

HOWEVER, I would consider the deluxe if it were just hubby and I. Mostly because on the basic we are not willing to burn 2 credits on the signature meals but on the deluxe you could use 1 credit for lunch and 2 credits for a signature dinner and use the snacks for breakfast or drinks during the day.

YUMMY!!:cool1:

When we went last Spring we were on the standard one. But I had to buy one meal Ohana. Because we couldn't choose which character meal to go to. So we ended up at the Princess Storybook Breakfast, Chef Mickey's ,1900 Park Fare plus a few none characters and paid oop for Ohana breakfast We want to do both Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau & Either Backyard BBQ or Hoop Dee Doo, plus Chef Mickey, Ohana breakfast, Park Fare . Plus my kids are big breakfast eaters sound like the deluxe would be our best bet.

Definitely can agree with you there. Book, it pay for it in advance and love it while you're there!

Have a magical time!

Whats the cost for DxDDP adult & kid age 3-9 per day? TIA!

Basic dining plan was $623. (273 per adult $77 for our 7 year old.)
To upgrade to the deluxe it would cost $518 more.

We are still so tossed up on what to do? Ugrade or stay where we are???

We made the ADR's close to where we were. ie: Hollowood studio's Brakfast and Dinner TS in Hollywood Studio's.

Epcot. Lunch & Dinner in Epcot.... that was we don't have to leave the park to eat...with the exception of the day when we were doing the water park...we'd have to leave when it closes anyways....

We appreciate a good quality sit down meal..and if we do 2 TS a day it shouldn't be too bad!

I would not spend $518 more to eat in this case. I would spend that to upgrade resort, but basic plan should work well for you. You can have good sit down CS meals, especially at a resort CS(All Stars or a Mod).

Even if you keep the same resort and simply pay OOP for additional items I doubt you'd need to fork over another $518.

With a 7yo I hope you've booked one or two character buffet meals. I can't imagine doing another TS on a day we had a buffet.
