We currently have a Finding Nemo Suite booked at Art of Animation but we are thinking about an upgrade to the Deluxe Studio at the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Our trip is for 8 nights in May 2018, our group is 5, my husband, MIL and I and two little girls (4 & 2). There are enough beds in the room for all of us but it seem a little small. The idea of being on the Monorail is nice and with the two little ones seems like a nice idea. This is our first trip to Disney. Anyone that has stayed in one of these room have any thoughts on the size with 5 people?

Honestly, it will be tight. Sleeping wise you will be fine with the pull down bed. It has two bathrooms which is a huge plus. We stayed there for 8 nights this past May. We loved it. We were a party of three and it was just enough room for us. The other party that went with us had 3A and a 13 year old and they were cramped with space. Mainly b/c there is really no storage space for your stuff. We also stayed at AoA in a suite for 5 days prior to moving over to the Poly in May. Definitely very spacious! We had more than enough room there. We have a two year old, and being on the monorail line definitely saved some time, getting to and from MK and Epcot.

Keep in mind one of the "beds" is a sofa sleeper. The pull-down will not fit two kids.

We stayed in a studio at the poly for a week this past Feb with 2 adults, and our 17 and 15 year old sons. We had plenty of room, didn’t feel cramped at all, and the double bathrooms were awesome to have! My 17 year old slept on the sofa bed, while my 15 year old slept on the fold out. Both said their sleeping spaces were fine.

I'm not a fan of AoA, but I don't think I would make this switch. You will get a queen, a queen pull-out sofa and a pull down bed (big enough for one of the kids). I would not put any of the adults on the pull-out. Honestly, if you want to upgrade, you might be better in a standard Poly room so you get 2 queen beds and a bigger day bed. If you can afford it, I would also consider a 2-bedroom at any of the DVC resorts or even a deluxe CL room at WL.

I agree with previous poster about booking a standard room at the poly as opposed to the studio. This will give you two real queen beds, rather than the sofa bed. Although if you are fine with the beds at AOA then you should be fine with what is offered in the studio. You only get one real bed at AOA as well.

Either way I would pick the poly over AOA any day.

Agree with PP about booking a regular Poly room vs a Poly studio. The Poly rooms are a wonderful size, with a very comfy daybed.

The Poly with little ones is great! We would often walk to the TTC, sometimes it's faster.

I agree with everyone else about a regular room. I'm not sure how you would arrange sleeping, and it would be very tight. I love staying at the Poly studios with my two boys DS12 and DS6, but with five, no way.

Not really double bathrooms. Just one bathroom with tub, toilet and sink (plus shower in the tub like at home) and another space with a standup shower and a sink. Still only one toilet for five people. In the case of the OP, one of the children will need to sleep with MIL in the queen sized sleeper sofa.

I'd also go with a standard hotel room at the Polynesian instead of the studio. We did stay in a hotel room at the Polynesian on our first trip in 1997. We had the two of us, plus our four yr old son and our two nieces (nine and eleven). We were in Moorea which is now one of the DVC studio buildings and it was cozy for the five of us. BUT, since the renovation to DVC studios, they used a lot of the living space for the shower room and kitchenette. So there is less living space than there used to be.

You'd be more comfortable in the Nemo suite than a studio. Deluxe or not, that's just a name.

Do you really want to be in the same room with MIL the whole time? I have stayed in a suite at AOA and there are 2 separate areas. The table murphy bed is great and then also the sofa sleeper. 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette would be better for the ages of your group. Besides the kiddos will LOVE the Decor.

Mind you I stay at poly often because I love it but with little ones and a MIL I would do a suite.

A studio will be small for 5 people so you will need to choose between your desire for space or your interest in the location.

We're a family of 5 and stay at either poly or beach club. The rooms have plenty of space for us. Only you can decide what is the right choice for you.

Do you stay at the Poly rooms or the Poly VILLAS?
As many others have said, the rooms will have 2real Queen beds and a day bed. I agree it will be more comfortable than the Villa
