Deluxe 'separated' room options

Planning a Jan. '18 trip for our family of four, including two teen girls. I'm looking for deluxe resort room options where the sleeping areas would be separated but not super costly -- something between a standard room and a suite. I'm in love with the Deluxe Clubs at WL, but there are only a handful of these and I fear none will be available the week we go. Are there similar options that I'm missing?

I can't think of any. You could look into a one bedroom DVC place, so they could have the living room, though.

There are some deluxe rooms at other deluxe resorts(GF comes to mind). But they would certainly cost more than WL. Maybe a Ft. wilderness cabin? That would give separate spaces and a kitchen. Otherwise, I agree that a DVC resort would probably be the best bet.

Your best bets in the deluxe category will be the WL deluxe rooms or a 1-bedroom at a DVC resort, however, in either scenario, one or two people will be sleeping on a pull-out sofa.

Minimal choices without a large budget. WL deluxe rooms and 1br suite at Beach Club. Others such as GF have deluxe rooms but they are not truly separate sleeping areas. Least expensive at GF would be an outer building deluxe garden. It is basically just a small additional sitting area with daybed in the turret so not separate. A family suite at Art of Animation may fit your needs but it is not a deluxe. We enjoy the 1br at the Beach Club over the WL deluxe rooms. Edited to add: the photo is of a GF turret room that is bookable as outer building deluxe garden or by request in SL CL. There are also main building deluxe rooms that are just basically more square footage. There are photos of the 1br Beach Club in the Beach Club thread.

I'll only speak to resort rooms, not DVC. @baler31 has some good advice above.

WL Deluxe rooms are the only ones that are truly a separate room. The Deluxe rooms in the other resorts that offer them - GF, BC, YC (I think), BWI are only an extension of the room itself, not really a separate room.

BC 1BR Suites would be a decent option and aren't quite as outrageously priced as the other 1BR suite options in the other resorts. It's still pricey, but not as bad.

I stayed in both a WL Deluxe room and BC 1BR suite last year, happy to help!

Why do you "fear non will be available the week we go"? If they are available now, book one and lock it in

Would you be open to a "family suite" either at AOA or ASMusic? You'd get a queen bed, the kids each get their own sleeping surface, door between, and a kitchenette. Not deluxe, but sounds nice to me! Two bathrooms is a plus. I like the more options at the food courts for teens really, but not sure if that type of resort suits you. I have enjoyed our stays at Pop (and I was the ultimate resort snob before that, I mean SNOB. Learned my lesson, that to each his own and every place offers something for someone).

All the DVC properties have a 1-bedroom option. You can rent points to make it affordable. Saratoga and old key west often have points specials through David's. You are planning early enough now to be able to get them booked.

Except for Poly, which has only studios and very high priced 2 bedroom bungalows. Poly has no 1 bedroom villas.
