Just curious as to which resort has the best/most generous offering under the "standard view" category!

I think the Poly probably does. They have so much folliage that at worst you will get a "peek" view of the parking lot. I believe at most of the other resorts you have a chance of getting parking lot or "behind the scenes" views that would not be that great. The Poly does a great job of keeping the "real world" seemingly miles away.

Also, because Poly only has two room times (garden and lagoon) some of the garden view rooms actually do have a water view.

I picked the Grand FLoridian because we always loved the marina view which counts as a "standard - garden view".

I like the Boardwalk Villas. The parking is far from the entrance. The hotel looks so pretty at night when they turn on all the lights. The landscaping is very pretty too. Some of the standard views over look a pond other get a view of the canal.

I voted AKL because I booked and paid for standard but was upgraded to savanna. That was the best standard view I've had :cool1:

I voted CR because I love staying in the North Wing. It's such a quick walk to MK and with the standard view it's possible to get a view of the castle. It does look out onto the parking lot, but that doesn't really bother me. CR's standard view is a good deal too when you book with a code. I'd have to say that Swan/Dolphin has some great standard view rates. When we stay there, we've always been upgraded to a resort or water view as members of Starwood Preferred Guest, but we only paid the $149/$169 teacher/govt. rate.
