Deluxe Extra Nighttime Hours

We have reservations at the Dolphin the Sunday before an Extra Nightime Hours at MK, checking out Monday. I have a few questions. (Haven't been to the World in a few years -- so many changes!)

1) From what I'm reading upthread, it sounds like we should be able to use the extra hours since we check out Monday? Has anyone done this successfully?

2) Everyone is mentioning them scanning magicbands for this. I wasn't planning to buy them since the ones online are not really our taste, especially for the $$$... Do we need the magicbands? Or can we get by with phones? I suppose we could buy some magicbands in Disney Springs before we pick up our tickets from will call and have them programmed there... Or is there a way to buy the plain cheaper ones if you're at the Dolphin?

Yes, you qualify for extra evening hours in the day you check out of your deluxe resort. You do not need a magic band, phone should be fine. What ever shows your ticket / reservation.

Yes, you can. You aren't checking into a lower level Disney resort, are you?

No need to spend the money for a MagicBand. Just scan whatever you use to enter the park -- ticket card or MagicMobile. That will be all you need.

You can attend the extra hours on the day you check out, Monday night, which currently would be at Epcot. You would not be eligible to attend extra hours later that week, and currently MK is on Wednesday nights (most of the time).

Thank you all! We're visiting in just a few weeks (February) and as far as I can tell the extended hours are still at MK on Monday when we'll be there. We're staying offsite afterwards. Our original plan was to be with family an hour+ away for Sunday night but since that's not happening we got a night at the Dolphin and then I realized - hey! maybe I should rearrange our whole plan. LOL!

I used the extended evening hours after checking out of the Dolphin. You do not need a MagicBand - the ticket you used to get into the park will work as long as the hotel reservation is linked to your Disney account. I have the MagicMobile feature setup and was able to scan with my Apple watch for extended evening hours.

I don’t think that MK has ever been on Monday. It’s always been Epcot
I stand partially corrected 😀. Mon 2/21 is MK for some reason. But that is the only one on a Monday.

Last Weds I checked out of a DVC and into Coronado Springs, and had no problem attending the MK evening hours. Our magic bands still showed we were DVC guests that day. I had taken a screenshot of my day in MDE just in case i needed to prove I had been in the DVC, but didn't need it at all.

I know people seem to have questions about whether changing to non-deluxe/DVC resorts will mess up the access, and I had the same concerns, but we had zero problems.

Can someone confirm: I'm renting DVC points at Copper Creek for my stay. Am I correct that I will still be able to attend the Extended Evening Hours even if Im not a DVC member? They are just scanning where you are staying, right?

And does anyone know if the boats to Wilderness Lodge are running during these extended hours? Or does transportation home switch solely to buses?

Sounds like its a great perk, so I'm thinking of switching my MK day to Wednesday to take advantage of it. My group traditionally starts our vacation with MK, but I'll switch things up in order to experience the parks at night with minimal waits!

Yes, you only need to be a guest at a deluxe resort to take advantage of the evening hours. No need to be a DVC member.

Sorry, I can't answer the question about the boats.

Can I add a guest to my reservation with the front desk the day of deluxe extra hours that evening for them to join?

I don't see why not. Just be aware that you would need to pay extra for any adult over the first 2.

Is the schedule usually updated on Fridays? There hasn't been an update today, so I may have that wrong. Thanks for any insights!
