I know that appetizers are included in the DDP, but does that include ALL appetizers on the menu? I see some -- like shrimp and crabmeat -- that run 15 bucks or so. Just curious if they limit what you can get. Thanks!

No restrictions I can think of except at Teppan Edo, where you can't get the sushi, and California Grill, where the two most expensive sushi items are excluded.

Besides the ones that Nala already mentioned, the only other limits I know of are the appetizers that are listed for two. Most restaurants require that two people use their credits to order those. There are some exceptions to that though. I know at Mama Melrose I've always been able to order the calamari or antipasta platter for two as a solo diner. We were not allowed to order the appetizers for two at Coral Reef or Le Cellier, unless we each used our credit for it.

I see in your title that you have "deluxe" written. And in your question you wrote "DDP".

The DDP is NOT the deluxe plan. Thought I would clarify for you as well as others who might read this and get confused.

DDP is "Disney Dining Plan". It is the middle plan (1TS, 1CS, 1snack).

DxDDP is "Deluxe Disney Dining Plan". That is the one that includes the appetizers. ;)

Wouldn't want anyone getting confused and being upset or disappointed if they get the DDP and then realize they don't get an appy.

Enjoy your trip!!

I have always wondered about abbreviations used on this site, where's the list so we all can understand what is being said?

Does the DxDP includes an appetizer even if you are at a 1 TS restaurant?

For example, if I went to the CG, it would be 2 TS credits (for appetizer, entree, sdessert and non-alcoholic drink) and then I would still have 1 TS to use at say Mama Melrose. Would the MM meal include an appetizer as well as the entree, NA drink and dessert?

All TS restaurants (including 1 TS credit) will give you an appetizer, entree, dessert, and one non-alcoholic beverage if you're on DxDP, with the exception of buffets, of course. The 2 TS credit restaurants just cost more because they are the "signature" restaurants--nicer atmosphere, more expensive entrees, etc. You still get the same amount of food.

Thank you. I wasn't expecting an appetizer.

Will probably get the appetizer and skip the dessert, even though it's included. :)

Carol, there are a few places where things on the dessert menu might also apply as an appetizer. The cheeze plate at Le Cellier comes ot mind.

Good to know. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

Occasionally a restaurant/server will allow you additional flexibility. Also, don't forget there may be other options that can be used as a dessert. Sometimes a fruit plate or a specialty drink/shake are an option. For CS, it can be even more flexible. When we get a Dining Plan that includes desserts, we try to use them in such a way that we are not using a credit for each person for lunch and dinner. 1 appy and 1 dessert between 2 people is more to our style than 2 of each. We often use up the extra credits with signatures and by arriving early and leaving late to add 2 additional meals to the trip. We also often use CS credits to get to go from places like Earl of Sandwich to have on the trip home for the final meal of that day.
