I'm helping some friends book their dining reservations. They have opted for the deluxe dining plan because they want to try several signature restaurants. Before we start booking, I want to make sure I understand how the deluxe dining plan works! LOL

It's my understanding that each person will get 3 credits per night. If they are staying 7 nights, they get 3 credits for all 7 nights of their trip. These 3 credits can be table service restaurants OR quick service restaurants, correct?

So......say for 1 day they do the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show and a lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. This would use 3 credits for that day. Then on another day, they could do Narcoossee's for dinner, and have a quick service meal lunch at Sunshine Seasons food court. This day would also use 3 credits, correct?

Yes. 3 meal credits per night and 2 snacks. They can be used for either CS credits or TS credits. Signature restaurants still 2 credits.

Both the examples you listed would cost 3 credits.

If they stay 7 nights, each of them will have 21 meal credits and 14 snacks for the entire stay.

It's also worth noting that with the DxDP, each TS meal includes an appetizer, entree, dessert, and standard drink. The DDP (standard dining plan) does not include an appetizer at the TS meals. The entitlements at the QS locations are the same whether on the DxDP or DDP.

This is correct regarding TS lunch and dinner. TS breakfast includes neither appetizer nor dessert.

Good point. No appetizers with breakfast. Also, no appetizer (or anything extra) when using the DxDP for buffets or the Fantasmic dining package (which comes with an appetizer regardless of payment method).

Your numbers are correct.

It is worth pointing out as TDC Nala said that if they are staying 7 nights, they would have 21 meal credits each (at non-AYCTE Table Service lunch and dinner, the credit would include drink, app, entree, and dessert) and 14 snack credits. Some meals require 2 credits (Signature, Dinner shows, and HDDR)

They don't have to use 3 credits each DAY. They could be really hungry and eat CRT (2 credits) for breakfast, Le Cellier (2 credits) for lunch and HDDR (2 credits) for dinner in one day. Or they could go offsite one day and use no credits.

We like to get the Deluxe plan on food and wine trips. We do a couple days where we do CRT for breakfast and Artist point for dinner and then Brown Derby early lunch and flying Fish late dinner.. then since we have so many snack credits we use a day or so with no TS and burn our snacks at Food and Wine :)
