deluxe dining upgrade

In our situation, no. For us the $1350 would go a long way on extras that we would like to do or a whole new trip. Heck, if we had another $1350 in the budget, we might even consider a cruise or extending our stay if we could get another set of tix & a room for a few extra days using whatever promotions Disney happens to have at the time. Just too many other things we could do with that money besides eat. If there is one thing we learned on our last trip, it is that we can make the DDP work and still have a good time without wishing we had more TS.

Besides 30 TS means 30 tips instead of 10, which just made that upgrade cost even more.

We did the same thing....free DDP upgraded to DXDP.....we are a family of 4, 2A, 1 tween, 1 child. we like to do character breakfasts for the kids and we like a nice sit down dinner. Last year, we did the DDP and had 11 extra counters because of the dinner thing. We figure this way we will have no OOP meals to pay for, we will most likely have extra credits but......no worries as to where we want to eat :)

We are going for 17 days and 16 nights. We upgraded to DXdp everytime it is free dining. We have plenty of time to visit each park and really enjoy eating at signature resturants. We take our time in the parks and enjoy sitting down to eat. I can't do hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs day after day. It's our only vacation each year and we like to enjoy it. My DH is diabetic and needs to each three meals a day.

We are upgrading for the first time for our September trip and I am excited to take advantage of a lot the things I probably wouldn't book it I was paying out of pocket. We have booked Character meals, CRT, Fantasmic, dinner shows, and a ton of signature restaurants. I love the idea of paying up front and not having the price of the meal stare you in the face as you try to decide what to order.

We are trying the regular free dining this trip with our 2 kids (4 and 10) and my spouse who is a type 1 diabetic (pump, etc). We plan on having 3 meals per day, but they do not have to be large, sit down meals. Maybe in the future I could do a DxDDP, but this year we were happy to score the free regular DDP.

I figure something like a bagel & fruit for breakfast, sandwich/salad/wrap CS thing for lunch, and then a healthy TS dinner...

Just my fiftieth of a dollar

I, myself have upgraded our vacations to the Deluxe Dining Plan many times and have had many clients who I have suggested do the same.. they have and loved it! I definitely think it's worth the money. In March I traveled with 6 adults--our dinner bills were $650-700.00 per night.. and it was all paid for by the Deluxe Dining Plan. not a bad deal! Just make the most of it.. don't skimp and order chicken when there's filet on the menu.. you've paid for it!
