I'm curious about this because we've always opted for deluxe dining plan and up until this year, she ate off the child menu because she wasn't 10 yet. Well now that's she's 10, I have 2 concerns:

1. I know all the dining credits are pooled, but can the server see when they scan our band that there's 3 'adults' on our account rather than 2 'adults' and 1 'child'? I ask because DD is rather petite and looks to be about 8 years old -- and she's mentioned more than once that she'll like to order from the 'adult' menu in certain restaurants we have ADRs for.

2. On the other hand, there are certain restaurants that she would prefer something from the kids menu (mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, fries, etc). Can she still order from the kids menu if she chose?

1. No, there's nothing that tells the server adult vs. child on the account. There's no reason a server should give you any guff on this, but it it happens, just politely inform the server that your daughter is 10.

2. Yeah, last time I went my (then) 10-year-old ordered off the kids' menu everywhere that wasn't a buffet-style meal. And he's super tall, so he definitely looked older than 9 (at age 12, he was recently mistaken for a high schooler). We just paid OOP for that and saved the credits for an extra character meal - it's a poor use of credits to use them on kids' meals (though a poorer use to let the credit go unused altogether).

I wonder if they can make the 'child' meal into an 'adult' portion? Earlier this year (and in her 10 years of life thus far) she hasn't been a big eater so a child's portion would've been fine -- but recently she's been put on medicine that seems to have turned her appetite from '2 bites and done' to 'clean the plate and ask for more'.

Yes, I know this is possible at some restaurants. My 10yo DD was served an adult portion of chicken nuggets at CRT. I'm pretty sure it still wasn't $62 worth, but probably twice as many as on the kid's meal. ;)

And they will adjust an adult meal to please a tween. They will leave off sauces, substitute kid meal sides ( in adult portions) for some of the more adult themed sides.
