Deluxe Digs, Delish Dining, & DISers:A Perfectly Pampered Trip for 2(Upt:8/12 pg.42)

Hi Jen:wave2:
Happy Friday!

Looks like your busy weekend is upon you...
How awesome for Phillip, I think you are going to have many exciting changes waiting for you in Austin!

What a fun update, TOT is one of my favorites! Love everything about it...
Mama Melrose's is going on our list to try as well. We have talked about it but for some reason we've always passed on it.
Your meals looked tasty!

You have soooo much going on before you move, the time is going to fly by!

Jen,
I am onboard. You are very right to be excited about your hubby's seminary graduation!!! I am a seminary grad and understand how hard he has worked.
Enjoy the move. Too bad it is a little further from your beloved WDW. Enjoy the weekend and the new things coming. I'll pray for you and all the changes. Hope you have time for an update soon.

Hey Jen! Just found this TR. Going back to catch up.

:flower3:

YAY!! Welcome!! I was so excited to find your PTR!!!! Happy reading!!!

That was a fun update! I have never seen the B & B show, only Mama Melrose! Which I agree is a good meal :goodvibes I definitely enjoyed it when we had dinner there! I really liked their calamari. I had that ricotta cheese cake too! Very nice! Oh and personally, I think you can get away with this spelling: WA LA.

:rotfl:

Looking forward to more updates :)

No B & B, that is just a shame LOL!!! It is a great show!! You are right Mama Melrose is a great meal, I have had their calamari and it is fantastic!!!!!

I will make sure to spell it that way next time LOL!!

Yay, Jen! I'm SOOO glad that you're deciding to finish this TR! :woohoo: I just love reading about your trips.

WOW. It sounds like things are insanely busy for you right now. I can't imagine. Tell your husband congratulations--that is so exciting! And I'll say a quick prayer for you right now that you'll be able to get everything finished and Austin stuff worked out by the time you leave. And with the least amount of stress possible. I know that it must seem SO overwhelming. But remember who's in charge. :goodvibes

Your updates are fantastic! I feel the same way about DHS. My family only spent half-days in DHS since we always had little kids with us. So I thought that it was the worst park by far. But now it's our absolute favorite!

You got some really great shots at the GMR. And I'm sure you were SUPER excited to meet up with Paula! Your lunch looks AMAZING! :cloud9: I just love Italian food.

I laughed when I read about Paula scaring you--I'm sure it was hard for the CMs to keep a straight face! And your Beauty & the Beast pictures are wonderful! We had the same Belle/Gaston combo during our first show. They were sooooo good! And your Animation Academy pics are SO good! I can't believe I'd never heard of it before...

Thanks so much for the update! I hope that things start to fall into place!

Staci, thanks for the prayers! Our bathroom is done being fixed and now all I have to do is paint it, but it's taped and the color has been picked out so give me one evening and that will be done! Having my parents and inlaws around this weekend has turned out to be very productive!!

I really enjoy everything DHS has to offer and I look forward to my next trip back!! I definitely am going to do the Animation Academy again, it was FANTASTIC!

Jen, I'm completely with you on the TOT! I would LOVE to be let loose in there! :lovestruc

I've not eaten at Mama Melrose's. I'll have to try it! It looks divine!!!

I'm so glad you continued your TR! I look forward to more!

Don't you just love the decor, Kristin! It is is amazing, such attention to detail! You would definitely enjoy Mama Melrose's so YUMMY!!!!

Thanks I hope to update again after all the madness of this weekend!!!

I JUST found your report! I'm super-duper late. I love all of your photos! The castle ones are my favorite so far. I love the photos from GMR, too- I can never get good photos in there. What kind of camera do you have??

Welcome April!!!! Thanks I really love trying to find new shots to take every single time I go! I have a Fugi FinePix 2000 although once we move we'll be in the market for a new camera, but I do love the one I have now!

Happy Friday to you too Anita!!! I hope your day went well!!! Yes a very busy weekend, but we're all really looking forward to it!

You guys will enjoy Mama Melrose's The food is so good!!!!!!!

Yes I'm trying to get as much done before Memorial day! So I'm going to have the garage sale and the bathroom finished before then...then we'll focus on the packing!

Congrats to you for finishing up your Seminary!!!!! Yes it will be a bit further from Disney, but Prince P has agreed to at least 1 trip a year LOL! ALthough we will have our hands full in Austin! Thank you so much for your prayers!!!

Jen -

I am so excited to see that you are working on your TR. You WILL have it done before October! :rotfl2: Seriously - your pictures from ToT and Hollywood studios are fabulous....so crystal clear. I got ushered through ToT so quickly that I barely got any pics and every time I raised the camera I got strange looks. It was an uptight group of people!

BTW - lunch looks delish!

Thanks! I just saw some of your photos, so I appreciate the compliment, you took some really nice ones with your new camera, can't wait to see what they did at Disney!!!

Chapter 12: How do you get to your car if the trams aren’t running?

Happy Sunday! Well the hard part of the ordination process is done! Phillip stood before his pastoral council for 3 ½ hours yesterday and at the end was unanimously recommended for ordination. So tonight was the ordination service and a reception for him following. I’m a pastor’s wife!!! My dad, who came down for the ordination, also took time and finally repaired the dry wall around our tub WOOT! That is now fixed and all that is left to do is paint the bathroom! We even managed to make it down to the beach and watch Phillip play hockey! Of course I was more interested in the Portuguese-Man-of War that had washed up on the shore, but that is the science nerd in me LOL! So cross a few things of the to do list! This week’s goals are to make it through the National Honor Society Induction tomorrow night, mow the lawn, get caught up grading, and to prepare for my yard sale on Saturday! I think that is quite doable…don’t you??? LOL!!

Well enough of real life, let’s go back in time, to a warm night in September, to a very special dinner! For this evening, Paula and I had plans to meet up with Christine (2xcited2sleep) for dinner at the Brown Derby! C texted us to tell us she was in the park and was working her way to the restaurant but was doing some shopping so we took our time walking through the stores, when we ran right into C! So we did some more looking, especially at Tiana dresses because P wanted to show them to her daughter! Also along the way Nobby met up with a special lady LOL!

As we got seated for dinner, C checked us in and made sure to ask for a booth, our request was accommodated! As we were seated, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a fellow DISer, Heather (Circusgrl). She headed our way just to say hi, we invited her to join us, and soon we were all sitting, talking, and just enjoying each other’s company!
Here’s a picture of the four of us! I love this picture and when we move this picture will end up in a picture frame in our spare room (aka the HM/Disney room…but shhh don’t tell Prince P yet it’s going to be a surprise)

JensWDWPart3209.jpg

So what did we choose to have for dinner! Well of course dinner was started with those amazing rolls they serve there.

JensWDWPart3203.jpg

Notice the very large bottle of water I got with my meal LOL!!!!

For our appetizers, Paula had a salad and I had the ravioli! Both were very good!

We both got the same entrée, the Char-grilled Filet of Beef - with herb-roasted fingerling potatoes! This was amazing! So yummy!!!

JensWDWPart3207.jpg

A funny thing happened when dessert came! Paula and I had gifts for C and our waiter had seen us give them to her. So he pieced together that it was her birthday on the reservation. So out came her dessert, the grapefruit cake, with a candle and all LOL!! Well after we settled the mix up, the candle was placed in my crème brulee and a wish was made LOL!

For her dessert, Paula had the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower on cocoa almond cookie and bananas "foster"

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this evening we had an amazing time just sitting and talking and laughing, time just flew by, literally, until we started to notice that the Brown Derby was starting to empty out and that a security guard kept checking in on us. We started to realize that we just might be the last people in the park, it was great! Our waiter assured us to just take our time there was no hurry! So we did LOL!!

We were the very last people out of the restaurant that night, we even left after some of the staff had left LOL!!

JensWDWPart3213.jpg

We decided to just walk leisurely out of the park and take some night pictures of an empty park! So enjoy our lovely night walk out of Disney Hollywood Studios.

Finally we headed for the exit, when we were informed that the trams were no longer running! We stayed longer than the tram people! We decided to walk to our car. Well the guy in charge of the trams was going to call one up for us and then changed his mind. Instead he decided to give us a ride in his truck!!

That’s right we were going to chauffered to my car in style! So in climbed P, Heather, and away we went! I might have gotten the wrong car a couple of times in the near empty parking lot LOL, but we finally arrived safe and sound in to my car!! It was a hoot!!!! We had the lights going on the truck and we were delivered in style, what a way to end a most fabulous evening!!!

My word, you guys really WERE the final guests there! So funny! I think the Brown Derby is a great place to loose the time in! I think the restaurant invites leisurely conversation, seems like a wonderful evening, and that bananas foster thing -- yeah, we had that too!! VERY VERY Good!!!!

Great update! And congrats to your DH and to you! I think your lists are quite manageable. Moving across the country is a big deal! Well, okay, moving further down I-40....;) Once a year trips seem like a great deal to me!!! :)

And CONGRATS to Phillip!! How exciting that you're a pastor's wife now!!! :goodvibes Does he have plans to preach? Is that why you're moving to Austin? And in case you don't read my reply to you on my TR, I'd love to meet up for lunch in Austin on July 10th if you're free--we're going to be driving home from San Antonio. Just let me know! Good luck painting the bathroom and mowing and getting garage sale stuff ready! :thumbsup2

I absolutely love the picture of the 4 of you at Brown Derby. That is great. No wonder you want to frame and hang it. Everyone is glowing and looks so happy. I think it is so cool that you were the last to leave HS. Weren't you also the first at the gate one of the days during your trip?

Love the story about the escort to your car, lights and all, too bad they didn't have a siren!
