I am looking for as much info as possible on the new deluxe ddp. We have postponed our upcoming trip until april and am really interested in do the deluxe ddp. I would like to know how it works as far as if you eat at a 2ts restaurant like brown derby, jiko, crt, narcoossee's, etc. Are you limited on this ddp w/ these restaurants the way you are on the basic ddp.

ETA~ Also is it per night of your stay and no dining options available for the day you checkout.

Thanks Mandy

You get 3 meal credits for each person per NIGHT you stay. You can slice and dice the meals anyway you want. You can do 1 signature dining (2 ts credits) and 1 ts or 1cs....you get great flexibilty with this plan. And 2 snacks each per night you stay. Dining is based on nights you stay, not the days.

And unlike the regular dining plan next year, you'll still get an appetizer with the deluxe plan. I'm planning on booking the deluxe plan myself. For a twelve-night stay I'll have thirty six credits I can use for either TS or CS, (the majority will be used for TS,) and twenty four snack credits, plus the mug. I'll have fun planning that trip. :goodvibes

Essentially it is like the current plan, but with more credits and no distinction between TS and CS. 2 snack credits and 3 meal credits per person per day, which can be used for any meal at any participating restaurant, at any time from check-in until midnight on the day you check-out. The signature restaurants still take 2 meal credits.

I'm having so much fun planning our January DxDDP trip! 11 nights x 3 meals per day x 4 people gives me 132 meal credits to play with, and we currently have plans to try every signature restaurant except Jiko and Citricos. :yay: As much as we've enjoyed the regular DDP, we're always left cutting out TS meals that we'd like to try and going out of our way to use CS credits. The DxDDP is a much better fit for the way we like to eat. Plus we'll have a grand total of 88 snack credits (4 people x 2 snacks per day x 11 nights), so we're going to have a great time trying all the legendary Disney snacks that we never seem to get around to. Dole Whip, here we come! :lmao:

If you're interested, the spreadsheet link in my sig includes a financial analysis of the DxDDP, including a rough OOP tip amount, and a spreadsheet you can download to plug in your information to see if the plan makes sense for you.

Thanks everyone for answering so far. I have really pretty much decided that we will do it b/c once you subtract the amount of the mug which we always purchase its not much more than the basic ddp and by the time you factor in all the extras that aren't on the basic ddp you come out even. At least in my opinion.

It was your current thread that really inspired me to ask the question b/c we really want to try a few of the 2ts meals that we have put off w/ the basic ddp.

ETA~ if we check in on the 4/4 but don't use any credits on that day are they available for our last day or are they wasted.

Thank you so much for the info I downloaded you spreadsheet and am going to check it out in a little bit. We will be 4 adults and 1 child when we go in april we will be there for 9nights. I know what you mean about the dole whip I will be have one myself and I just keep thinking of all the snacks that are really great that I will be getting.

Okay to make sure I understand this correctly if we eat a Jiko on one night which is a 2credit meal and chef mickey's for breakfast the same day we would have no meals left for that day just snack credits.

Credits aren't specific to any day or night. You can use them as you see fit. For instance you could book CRT for breakfast and lunch and California Grill for dinner using 6 TS in one day for an extreme example.

More typical would be to have a one credit TS dinner on arrival day, use 3 credits for other days and still have breakfast and lunch on departure day.

You can continue to use your dining credits until midnight on the day of your checkout. So, yes, you can use your credits on your last day. :thumbsup2

DH and have reserved the Deluxe Dining Plan for our April vacation as well. We wanted to try a lot of signature restaurants, and I prefer appetizers while DH prefers dessert. So, it ended up being a nice fit for both of us. I have to admit though, I'm finding it difficult to use all 21 of our dining credits (per person). We don't usually eat a sit down breakfast, so we're using our credits for lunch and dinner (with breakfast on 2 mornings).

I hope it's ok (I don't want to hijack the thread ;)), but does anyone have suggestions for how not to waste dining credits? Are there "quick" breakfasts that you can pick up and take with you that use one dining credit? (We're staying at the Poly, but wouldn't mind picking up a fast breakfast in the parks either)

Reading all this I think the DxDDp plan is really a good plan for us. Thank you all.

When will you be going in April if you don't mind me asking. We have gotten breakfast from the main street bakery in MK and sunshine seasons in Epcot. As for the days that we are in MGM or AK we grab something from our resort.

queenofhartz, an easy way for you to use all your credits is to plan signature dinners. Those restaurants are very good and use two credits each. So have a TS lunch and a signature dinner if that works well for you. Cinderella's Royal Table is also 2 credits for all meals.

You can also use meal credits at counter service spots. At the Polynesian, you can pick up a QS breakfast at Captain Cooks or the coffee stand by Kona. Besides cancer survivors ideas, Fountainview Bakery at Epcot and Starring Rolls at MGM are good places for a quick breakfast. There is another QS restaurant at Epcot whose name escapes me right now but it serves breakfast platters, etc..

These are the places we plan on eating and will use up all but 4 credits that we will use at certain cs locations.

Breakfast:
Boma
Boatwrights
Kona
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare
Chef Mickey's
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Donald's Breakfast/Tusker House

Lunch/Dinner:
Brown Derby D
Akershus D
Marrakesh L/D
Liberty Tree Tavern D
Jiko D
Narcoossees D
Ohana D
Artist Point D
50's Cafe L
Sci-fi L

ETA~ The counter service places that we like to eat at are Pecos Bills, Mexico, Sunshine Seasons, Harry Ramsden fish and chips, and Pinocchio Village Haus.

We're not breakfast people, but we like splitting 2 breakfasts from Main Street Bakery between the 4 of us because the food there is just so good.

Where we really burn credits that might otherwise go unused is on late night snacks. At the end of the evening, we'll pick up a CS meal or two from Main St Bakery or a couple orders of California rolls from Sunshine Seasons to take back to the room with us. Since we're night owls and often get back to our resort after the food court has closed, this works out perfectly for us.

I'm planning on booking the deluxe plan, and Ohana and Kona are both TS restaurants that serve breakfast on the dining plan. Ohana is a character breakfast though so I don't know if that'd be of interest to you. Also, as far as character breakfasts go, you can't beat Crystal Palace IMO.

Hiya cancer_survivor_06! :wave2: DH and I will be there April 26-May 3. I can't wait! It seems so far away......

Thank you for the breakfast ideas. I've heard good things about both the MK bakery and sunshine seasons. :)

Great, thanks for all of the information! :thumbsup2 It's very helpful. I have been messing around with different restaurants, and I was able to squeeze a few more signature dining restaurants in for dinner, so I've used up all of our credits now. yay! Now, I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I can get all of the ADRS. :)

Yes, Crystal Palace is one of the places we're going to try to get a breakfast ADR at. We're also going to try Kona for breakfast. Other than that, we'll probably pick up some cs breakfasts at MK bakery or sunshine seasons like cancer_survivor_06 suggested. :flower3:

You can go to your resort gift shop and use 1 snack credit for a box of entenmann's donuts.....how's that for a quick breakfast...and with you're refillable mug, you'll have free coffee/tea, etc.....can't beat that with a stick! That's one way to maximize your credits...find the loop hole and use it. You'll still have (under deluxe) 1 snack for the day and all 3 meals.

Can anyone confirm the cost of Deluxe dining? The links I have found only give package prices.

We have a 6 night dining plan stay plus 3 nights room only. We will have until midnight to use the credits. Wondering if we should upgrade to Deluxe?

TIA!
