What deluxes have normal size (that an adult can sleep in) beds in the standard rooms? I know that the Polynesian does, but do all the deluxes have them. I am most interested in the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Grand Floridian.

Thanks!

All The day beds are 50". That is what I was told by the CM when I made reservations.

All the day beds are the same size in the deluxe resorts. I don't believe that they are the same size as a twin bed however, I think they're a tad shorter. All 3 of my kids love staying in them and my daughter is 5'8'' and has no problems.

The CM who said all day beds are 50" is just plain wrong.

The Polynesian day beds are as long and wide as a regular twin bed. My son who is 5ft or 60 inches tall has tons of room to spare. Adults fit fine on those. I think the GF ones are the same.

The daybeds at the BC seem smaller than the Polynesian to me but even those are longer than 4ft. 2inches I think.

Both of my 3 year olds slept on the daybed at the Poly. They are very big.

I think the Boardwalk Inn is the only place with short beds. The two places we have personal experience -- poly and yc -- they were either twin bed size or very close to it.

The Poly and the Contemporary have day beds that are the size of twin beds. All other deluxe resorts have day beds that are much smaller and more narrow.

Some rooms at the YC and GF do not have a day bed, they have an overstuffed chair in it's place.

I had to laugh when I finished reading this post because I don't think any one post had the same answer. Here are my thoughts to muddy up the waters even more - it is my impression that the Poly daybeds are bigger than the YC, BC, and AKL and were probably the size of a twin bed. However, my "robust" sister-in-law slept fine on the daybed at the YC so it was not that much smaller. All the daybeds I have seen were longer than 50". Hope this helps!

Are there specific rooms at the GF that have the daybeds or is it a by chance thing? Is there anywhere that would have the specs of the rooms there so that I can see exactly what the dimensions of the rooms and beds are?

Thanks!

It's my understanding that not all rooms at the deluxe resorts have a day bed. We;ve had adjoining rooms at the Yacht Club with friends and family on more than one occasion and while our rooms had the daybed, their's had a nice chair in it's place just as Anne had posted. We always have a room with the daybed as we're 5 people. If you want the daybed, make sure you request a room with it or if they only see 4 on the reservation, they may just put you in a room without it.

Was your daybed at the YC normal sized or was it short? I have seen many conflicting reports and would like to know at least that some rooms have the full size daybed in them.

All rooms at the Polynesian and CR have daybeds other than some suites. Y&BC, you should be sure to request it.

We've also had a room at the GF with a love seat rather than a daybed but most rooms there do have a daybed.

We have stayed several times at the BC and always have had a day bed. One trip was with a friend that slept on the day bed. She said it was very comfortable and she was 5'10" and was a chunky monkey. Glad we had the trip together she passed away a year ago.

Our day bed was normal. An adult slept on the bed for the entire trip and a couple of us also napped on the bed or just laid on it and it was fine--not to short. Not all the rooms at the YC do have a daybed though. If you have a party of 5 they will normally put you in one of the daybed rooms. For a party of 4 you can request one of the rooms but you might not get one.

Dee is correct. The others are shorter and narrower than the ones at the Polynesian and Contemporary. Also the mattress thickness is less at the resorts other than Polynesian and Contemporary.

I think to be aware of the differences you would have to see each daybed at each resort. The ones at the Yacht and Beach, BW Inn and Grand Floridian seem regular size until you compare them to the ones at Polynesian and Contemporary.
