News from Delta:

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) changed its excess baggage charges for overweight baggage, effective Feb. 1. Delta will now consider any bag weighing more than 50 pounds to be overweight, and will charge $25 for bags weighing between 51 and 70 pounds. Delta will continue to charge $80 for bags weighing 71 to 100 pounds. Bags that weigh more than 100 pounds are not accepted by Delta as checked baggage.

Thanks for reminding me! I also read this awhile back. So not only limited to 50 lbs, plus now limited to checking 2 bags per person. OUCH--that is tough for our 2 week vacation. I would prefer one heavier bag to 2 bags. I guess they don't see it that way.

The airlines theory is that the one large bag causes them more worker's comp injuries then the 2 small bags.

Honestly, when was the last time one of you weighed your luggage? I have no idea how heavy my bags get!
