We've been considering our flight options for next year's trip to Orlando and I know that Delta are often recommended on here. We're actually flying to New York with them in April.

Anyway, since booking our New York trip, I've heard/read that you don't get anything included in the price of the flight, i.e. food and entertainment. Is this true? I looked on their website but it's a bit unclear.

If it's correct that nothing is included in the price, we will not go to Orlando with Delta (and we'll be taking sandwiches and a laptop with us to New York! :rotfl:).

We flew with Delta this August from Dub to Orlando Via Alanta. On the Dub to Alanta flight we got a lunch and then a sandwich about an hour before we landed. There was as much drinks as you wanted including beer and wine free with your meals and soft drinks all through thee flight. We had our 2 teenagers with us and they were asking for drinks all the time and it was no problem. They were even given ice cream free. The movies were shown on screens which were in roof of plane, they were not in the back of the seats.I would have no problem flighing with Delta again as i thought they were very good. The flight from Alanta to Orlando which was only about 1 hour long,we just got a drink and some snacks free.

Thank you for the information. :thumbsup2

Did you not have to pay for any of the food you received then?

I didn't realise there wasn't any seatback entertainment (although I'm guessing it depends on which plane you get?). On the website, it had charges for individual TV shows and films! I wonder if that's for a portable system? As I said, it isn't particularly clear.

Only food you had to pay for was if you wanted snacks or choc bars such as Pringles,Mars bar etc.Meals supplied were ok,was not gourmet food. The usual Chicken or Pasta

Portable system is available on some flight but wasn't on ours.On internal flights within USA you can get them and also WI Fi but they are extra and must be paid by credit card.

Food and entertainment is free on all Delta transatlantic flights.
We checked this out recently as we are going with them next weekend. :woohoo:

We flew Amsterdam - Detroit with Delta last year - they were really good actually - plenty of food/drink on offer.

Were meant to have personal entertainment systems but unfortunately ours was broken on the flight out - worked perfectly on the way home though with lots of choice.

I wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again - the air hosts/hostesses were the friendliest I've ever experienced too :)

Thanks Izzie, sounds like you had great flights. :goodvibes

Hi we have flown with Delta a few times, again through Amsterdam. Very pleased with the service, both from cabin crew and entertainment. Seat back TV's with movies on demand, great being able to pause a movie to get your meal sorted out, or to get something for the kids. Didn't get charged or anything on the trans atlantic flight. The internal flight was different, you can buy beers etc, but as it was only just over an hour we didn't bother.

We are flying with Delta again Thursday so will be able to give an update in a couple of weeks, sooner if I think about it while in Florida.

I think that "competition" keeps the standards up, and discussion boards like this soon spread the word if one company is not quite hitting the mark.
