They did this to us this weekend as well. We orginally were leaving Toledo at 10 getting to Cincy then leaving at around 3 to Orlando getting in around 5.
Well yesterday we get an email that they had us leaving at 8:45 instead but then we ended up with a 5 HOUR LAYOVER in CIncy (for a 2 hr flight).
My DH got on the phone told them it was unacceptable and they were able to get us to Orlando by 1 pm. 4 hrs earlier than we orignally had planned!!
WE had to change 2 sets of tickets -dh and dd13 got tickets from AMEX pts and dd7, ds5 and myself had tickets thru Northwest World Perks (all the same flights, just ordered thru 2 different places cuz we didn't have enought points at either one for all 5 tix) anyway American Express travel (through travelocity) changed us to the new flight, then we called Northwest and they also got us on the flight.
In addition, AMEX even got us a better deal on our rental car. We had booked a fullsize for $175 plus taxes for the week thru Dollar, they were able to get us a Premium for $154 plus taxes for the week still with Dollar.
GET ON THE PHONE ASAP!!!! Tell them those changes are not doable for you and see what they can come up with..HTH
BTW-They didn't charge us to change the flights, since it was there doing in the first place.
