Delta tickets

:confused3

I have never heard of this. What airline does not allow you to print as many boarding passes as you like?

Delta
No personal experience. Poster on, I think FT. You can print as many as you want but requesting an electronic BP supposedly prevents you from getting a paper BP. I'm not 100% sure but I think he said getting a paper BP stops you from then getting an electronic BP.

Delta's website says the e BP replaces your paper BP. It says if you didn't receive your BP they will resend it at the airport. They don't say anything about issuing a paper BP under those circumstances.

I'm not sure what they'd do if you told them you left your phone at home.

No, you can print as often as you want. I always check in online and just print a BP at the airport kiosk. Last week the Delta agent printed one when I checked my luggage.

Yep! I check in online and if I don't have handy access to a printer (or if I printed it and misplaced it:lmao:) you can 1) print your BP or replacement BP at home or 2) wait until you get to the airport. To the OP--you can check in online with Delta 24 hours before your flight takes off--not 2 days before.

I did online check in and tried to print off some stuff and was out of ink. The website said I could finish checking in but wait until morning to print off boarding passes at the airport.

I know you can (re) print your traditional paper BP as many times as you like. The question is if you can print a paper BP after you've been issued an e (mobile/smartphone) BP. Alternately can you get an eBP (mobile/smartphone) after you've already been issued a paper BP.

Some posters on FT say, for at least some airlines, you can't go from one type of BP to the other.

Delta is using the term eBP to refer to a mobile BP downloaded to your smartphone.

That is correct. For Delta at the least you may print you BP as often as you like. However, once you 'send it to your phone' the link to reprint your BP disappears. You may get a paper cope at the airport kiosk if you still want to print it.

I've never printed out first at home then sent to mobile so I'm not completely sure if it will work in this order.

I check in using the app I get an eBP. I then can print off at every kiosk I come to in the airport, an agent can print etc....

I check in on line, I have boarding pass link sent to my cell phone, I can also print on my printer and print again at the kiosk. (I always print a copy off on my printer. It has the free drink coupon :) )

Delta will let you print the thing no matter how you check in.

A poster in this thread, and on another board, had a different experience. I have no doubt you're accurately posting your experience.

Maybe those other posters made a mistake, didn't go to the right menu/click on the right icon. Delta recently updated their app. I guess it's possible the option to print a BP after obtaining an eBP was removed and is now back.

Why do you get a free drink coupon? Status? Type of ticket?

Personally I go with a paper backup BP every time. If you end up with a flight delay and your phone loses power, if you lose it for whatever reason, or if it just decides to malfunction, replacing it will be a PITA to some extent, particularly if you are cutting your time close. (My home airport has no kiosks airside, so reprinting without leaving the secure area isn't possible unless you have the GA do it for you.)

I put my itinerary number in multiple places. It's on my phone in the airline app and on my calendar app with the flight number and departure time, and I also write it down and put it in my pocket, just in case. I've been in situations before where I ended up needing to get to it when my bag was difficult to access, and that comes in handy.

Am I paranoid? Yeah, maybe, but all kinds of screwy things can happen in airports, so I like a bit of redundancy on my documentation, just in case.
