Delta has changed my schedule for our Dec 06-Jan 07, trip. One of our flights has been re-numbered with totally different departure time (2 hrs. earlier).

My questions are:
(1) I bought Delta as I was to impatient to wait til Aug/Sept for SWA to come out with the fares for that time frame. Does anyone know if due to schedule changes Delta will refund my fares? I would only do this if SWA came out with their good $99 ea way like I bought last year.

(2) The change has put us on a plane 2 hours earlier in the day and leaving us with a very long 5 hr. lay-over in Atlanta. Could I call them and request that they put me on the later flight out of MCO so we have more WDW time and less lay-over time?

(3) At what point will Delta contact me to let me know of these changes?

Delta/Song have been changing flight times for almost all of their flights, especially ones that far out in time. I am not sure if they will refund your money, but if you are interested in that, you should certainly contact them. The worst they can do is say no.
Because they have changed your time so much, and to great inconvienience, they will offer to change you to a different flight. Call and let them know. They will change you once for free for each large time change they do to you.
They have changed my flight more times than I can count, and they have never contacted me about it. I only know because I check the reservation daily. Each time they make a change they drop our seat assignments and I have to contact them to get the seat assignments back.
Good luck, and expect many more time changes.

The Delta dance has begun :crazy2: . i just got back from VB which was super and saw that my SONG flights were now Delta( which I expected) seats were gone and flight number & times had changed , all expected. Called and got the flight booked with seats which the agent never put in the system. I went in later and picked seats, checked this morning and they had moved my seats to the last row of the plane( how nice of them).
I fully expect many more changes, theyare going to put First class back in the SONG aircraft and the seat maps for the flight shows all coach 757. I read that Delta will probility use smaller 737 for Northeast to Florida routes.
Check everyday and keep smiling :thumbsup2

And the really incredible thing is that this morning the Delta rep told me that 'Oh, your seats will just be given back to you when we remove the old flight from your screen.' Ah, I have been told that I won't get my seats reissued until I call them. It's almost like that's how they know that I know about the time change. Boggles my little pea brain. I spent this morning figuring out both my trips with Delta..May and Oct and then seeing that JetBlue had also changed my dh's flight in May....to about 2 hrs earlier and stopping in JFK...not a direct flight anymore. This is insanity.

You can call them (Delta) and make a change to your flight(s) at no expense to you. The change has to be within 24hrs (before or after) of the original flight. This happened to me as well and actually was to my benefit because I needed to come back a day earlier and the cost of fares was crazy I was going to just leave it the way it was but when they changed the schedule/flight, I jumped at the opportunity and now have the flights/days I want to travel. Well I guess until they change them again. Like everyone is saying I keep checking at the beginning of every month and they do keep making slight changes but nothing as significant as the first change they made. Good luck.

Hmm. I just happened to run across a pretty decent fare for our December trip, but it is on DELTA! I am so tempted to book the flights because they are $40 per ticket less than our August tickets, but DH wants me to wait. I am HOPING American will offer the $158 round trip deal they had earlier this year, but if that doesn't happen I will be kicking myself for missing out on the Delta tickets. Grrr. Decisions, decisions...

I know it is a long way off and the schedules will probably change a million times. Delta termed my original outbound flight out of Orlando and booked me onto one that was an hour earlier which gave us an even longer lay-over in Atlanta. When I originally made our ressies there was a 5:25pm departure that would have been great (more time at WDW :teeth: ) but the 5:25 was not available in the cheapie price.

I just called Delta and since they changed my flight I was able to get the 5:25pm which only leaves us with a 1 hour lay-over in Atlanta :teeth: and more time at WDW :thumbsup2 We still arrive home at the same time.

The agent at Delta re-did all my seat assignments too. Piece of cake.

Thanks for all your advice.

I just saw on my itinerary that Delta just changed my outgoing Bos-Mco flight
on september 9 by half hour. It was to leave around 8am but now 730 am which is not bad at all.,The flight numbers changed for it but coming back remained the same which is good. Now have to rebook the seats.

Just called Delta and my seats have not changed and that greats. :cool1: :thumbsup2

They bumped my outgoing bdl - mco flight by 30 minutes (late July), and my return by 30 minutes. No big deal. My family was scattered all over the plane but a quick phone call resolved all of that.

My only real issue at this point is the new flight is about $50 (x4) cheaper than the flight I was originally scheduled for.
Since the old booking was with Song and the new one is a Delta flight the customer service reps say "no refund, no voucher". If my reservation had been with Delta from the start they'd be happy to do something for me.

Something tells me this won't be the last time this happens before July....
