We are going to WDW 1/26/07-2/4/07. I am traveling from Kansas City. I can get $138pp (taxes and fees included) on Delta today or I can wait and see what Southwest does. Southwest has non-stop flights while Delta has one stop in Atlanta. What would you do, purchase today and have tickets in hand, or wait for a Southwest Ding fare? Your input is appreciated!

Its your call obviously, but $138 RT pp from Kansas City is pretty darn good. You'd need to get a Ding! for $59 or less each way to beat that price. And since your flights are on Friday and Sunday, Dings! seem to be less frequent for those days. If it was me, I'd book it now with Delta and live with a change of planes in Atlanta.

$138 PP seems pretty good.

That's $69.00 each way with taxes and fees !

Even if you do get a ding for $59 with taxes and fees you'd come close to that or maybe go over.

I'd book with Delta. That's a good fare !

Good Luck. :sunny:

I would book Delta too at $138. I really wanted to try to wait for SWA this year for my tickets in Feb but I saw US Air for $99 each way (about $230 R/T) and I grabbed them. That was about a week before SWA opened up its schedule for Feb. The cheapest fares SWA had for my dates were $135 each way but they were all unavailable unless you wanted the late flight out and the early flight home. So even though some people are able to get great fares with SWA by waiting I am always disappointed when their schedule opens up and the fares aren't that great and they are not even available. I booked Delta for the same time in Feb last year and got $128 R/T. I knew I wasn't going to get that deal again but I always grab what I feel is the best price I am going to see because there are no guarantees that by waiting for SWA you will get a good price. Hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

Book it!

I've NEVER had luck getting a Southwest flight when I needed it.

Save yourself the headache of worrying about it and move on to packing!

I love SW, but at that rate, they wont beat it by much if they do, book the flights.

I was in your situation last year. Buy tickets on Delta for $178/person (with stops in Cincy on the way down and Atlanta on the way home) or wait for AirTran or Southwest?

I ended up buying the tickets on Delta right at the 331 day mark (last December). I felt better knowing we had our airfare and the price was good.

We'll be using those tickets in 2 weeks. Yeah!

I've taken everyone's advice and bought the Delta airfare. While I may be extra sad when SW comes out with $39 each way as a Ding! fare, at least I can go ahead and pay for this portion of the trip.

Thanks to everyone for your input!

Having been watching DINGS I just don't think there are going to be many of the $39 each way espeically on your 1/26 flight. They won't need to discount that flight that much.
