I was on Delta's website and they have $118 per person round trip from Nashville to Orlando during our travel time. They listed the aircraft that would be making those flights and they seemed to be smaller aircrafts seating roughly 50 people. We normally fly SW and I was just curious as to the difference between the two, if anyone has travelled w/ both airlines.

I don't know if I should go ahead and book but I'm a little nervous w/ the smaller planes or if I should hold out for a ding. :confused3

We used Delta last year for our trip from Louisville to WDW and we flew on a 145 regional jet. Yes the plane is somewhat small but we enjoyed it::yes:: . I did a lot of research on these planes and they are equiped with the latest technology and from what I read the pilots really seem to like flying them:thumbsup2 . This made me feel better about our choice. We chose Delta again this year for our June trip and again it's on a 145 regional jet. It was great for our family, my DH is 6' and about 240 lbs and he had plenty of room plus it's nonstop which I enjoy seeing how I love to fly so much:scared1: ! Have a great trip!

Yes they are smaller jets that delta fly to Orlando. Most are 2 and 2 (isle and window seats, no middle seat). For a short flight from Nashville to Orlando they are fine, extended flights are a little tough. If your (or anyone travelling in your party) is over 6' 2", it going to be tight.

Thank you both for your responses. I'm not sure what we will do but I do appreciate the info.

For us, SW seems to have better times out of Nashville than Delta. Also, Delta seems to have a record of changing flight times.

As far as the 50-seaters, I really like those planes. We used to fly them a lot when Delta had a good schedule out of Huntsville. But now our evening flight down is mid-afternoon (4 something) and our evening flight home is at 2 something in the afternoon. Not good times for us.

We drive to Nashville after work at 5pm and can still get on SWs late flight down (around 9:00 pm) and their last flight back to Nashville is about 8:30 pm,

Oh, FYI we're taking the SW flight next week and we are flying for less than $70 RT per person including all taxes and fees.

Also, with Delta if the flight price goes down, you can't convert to the lower price without a $50.00 change fee. With Southwest, if the price goes down, you can get the fare reduced with no change fees and get the credit for future travel!!! And that credit can be used for anyone!! With Delta, any credits you might get have to be used by the original traveler.

We're going a week after you and I haven't seen that fare. BNA is our home airport too. I think we may end up driving.
