Delta headlines

Well that last story is interesting, but you won't see sympathy strikes. Those are illegal and the union knows it.

exactly. most union contracts have that provision written into them. what you could see if there were a strike (which I highly doubt) is employees of other airlines joining the picket lines.

sometimes, when the union that i son strike itself cannot man a picket line, they bring in those from other places or even paid picketers to keep th eline going.

Pilots aren't really very good picketers...

Plus it's already HOT in Atlanta and like to picket in uniform.

Is anyone suprised by the lack of progress that is being reported? Is there a chance that things are better than they are and just not being disclosed? I was really hoping that something would come along to help calm my nerves a little.

Actually neither side is saying much of anything... the union is doing the practice pickets (how hard is it that they need to practice?)

I would think that if they weren't talking at all the union guy would be in front of the TV pointing out that DL is not talkiing to them (This man seems to love his moments of fame!) So I would assume that there are talks ongoing I also don't think we will hear anything until Friday at the earliest.... and all we may hear then is that they are going to work Easter weekend.... The agreement will be announced like so many at the LAST minute when both sides are convinced this is all they are going to get/give.

Carol A, I noticed that it shows you are from Atlanta. Are people worried, from what I can tell Atlanta would be highly effected by Delta going under. I just feel so sad, at a time when it should be happy planning. I don't like not knowing what is going to happen, and then they whole thing of if something happens are chances of going drop big time. :sad2:

Actually there has been very little press coverage and the overall mood here seems to be that they will resolve this.
Atlanta will take a real hit if this does come to pass. It's not just the pilots, its the flight attendnants, gate agents, mechanics, etc. Plus the catering company, fuel company all those folks who work at the airport etc....

Not to mention that to get out of Atlanta you have to fly Delta!

from what i have been reading on the internet is we probably wont hear anything till next week if then. They are saying just because the 15th comes and goes means nothing. The panel could extend the date to try & get things straightened out.UGGHHHHHHHHH.I could just scream,i am on here everyday looking and reading looking and reading. It is just awful,i am not even excited about my vacation at this point in time.To tell ya truth i am hoping Delta will delay my flight so i can rebook and at least be happy again about my vacation!!

I check our flights everyday, and Delta just won't change them. I am trying to keep any possible options open. Hopefully by this time next week we will all be happy again.
