Delta Fares

I've been watching airfares from American and Delta for a trip to Phoenix in July. Both had good fares, but the Delta fare was a bit less and the time for the flights was perfect. Within the last couple of weeks the price went up by almost $100 and today it's gone up another $20. For those of you with Delta experience, do the prices ever go back down (other than last minutes deals)? With the flight still 7 months out, I was a little surprised to see it go up so much. The price of the American flight is still the same.

It could. I fly Delta alot for business and have seen it drop. If I have a trip planned far in advance and I think the price is high, I sometimes wait it out and it sometimes goes down.

There is a fair chance that it will drop again. Especially since your trip is still 6 months away. I'd watch for a while longer.

Usually the lowest fares are offered 2-3 months before departure. However if your particular flight is filling up it is possible when a fare sale is offered for your travel date it may not be available on your particular flight if it's more full than other flights. Be careful around school holidays too.

Checked Delta again this morning and price has dropped by over $100.
