Delta fare adjustments?

Anybody ever get a free price adjustment on Delta when a lower fare comes out? I know some airlines will do this. Didn't know about Delta.

Delta used to but no more.

Now you have to pay their change fee.

So Delta has rejoined the group of airlines where it is recommended you wait for a fare war instead of buy at their everyday low price (except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.).

For Delta the "fare ware" booking class is T, the "everyday low price in limited supply" is U. The next step up is L.

I think what the OP meant was if you buy a ticket at certain price and it goes down can you get a credit of some sort. Correct me if I'm wrong Leslie.

I have flown Delta for a while now and I've never been able to get a change because my flight prices have not changed, but my friend has gotten a credit when the prices have changed. They gave her an "air voucher" she can use towards the purchase of another ticket. HTH

United does this as well - it's called refare with them, and they will issue a credit voucher.

Yes, I meant if the price goes down, will they give me a voucher credit. Thanks. In that case, I'll keep checking the fare to see if it goes down.

What seashoreCM means is that on many airlines - if the fare goes down, you have to rebook the same flights at the lower fare, AFTER paying the $50 - $100 per ticket change fee, and then you will get a credit voucher for the difference for future travel. Your fare would have to go down at least $50 per ticket (or $100 on some airlines like American) just to break even.

Endorsing seashoreCM's and NancyIL's posts: Yes, Delta now considers even a fare change for the exact same flights to be a change, and charges passengers the ticket change fee.
They reinstituted this policy in July 2005 - somewhere between 7/20 and 7/30, I forget the exact date

That would be my luck. Today the fare just went down $11. Not much, but times 4 people, that's $44.

It never hurts to call and ask. But I think you would have to pay a $50/ticket change fee, which isn't worth it to save $11.

I did call and ask, because sometimes it depends who you talk to. Two different ladies told me no. Does Delta outsource their customer service to folks in another country? Those I've talked to have heavy accents, and it's always difficult for me to understand them.

I didn't know that Delta had price changes; I thought they specialized in flight changes!
