This weekend I checked our Dec14 flight on Delta by comparing my itinerary to the flights available. Sure enough our flight was not there. I called Delta and was told we could be booked on the 8 AM out of JFK, we were on the 7:15 AM. When I asked why my itinerary on their website still listed the original flight , I did not receive a creditable answer. The return flight is also changed and is leaving later. They said that flight# was still the same and we were booked on it in the same seats. So my question is how could we be returning from somewhere we weren't scheduled to go? I realize Delta has to deal with all the changes for Oct and then Nov before they get to Dec. but I would suggest anyone traveling in Dec. check out there flights and keep going back like I intend to do. When I asked Delta how soon I should check back for any further changes, I was told to check about a week before my flight. Somehow I feel that might be too late. Another bit of info, the ticket price has increased about $100. We discussed canceling this flight and booking Jet Blue, but how would we know that Jet Blue wouldn't change their flights. Delta had 5 a day from JFK and they are down to 3. Anyone hear anything about Jet Blue having changes?

That's horrible - thank god our delta flight is still up there from LGA - I hope they won't cancel a plane that has less than 20 seats available left. Did you see if they might be able to change you to lga. I almost always leave from JFK but the flights from jfk seemed to be much more expensive than taking delta from LGA...my tickets in January were 129 - a similar flight from jfk was going for 149$.

When I purchased the tickets they were $166. , which was lower than anywhere else. I didn't think that was a bad price for Dec. We are only returning on the 22nd which is Christmas weekend. We flew from Laguardia last Jan and did not have a good experience either way, so decided to give JFK a try. We always flew Delta from Islip, but now there aren't any direct flights. When I priced SW they were over $200 . There are 4 of us and I would rather have the extra money to spend at WDW. As far as what they would cancel, I don't know the answer. I do know that they can make any changes they want as long as they book you on another flight during a similar time frame. They can make you stop in Atlanta. That is what they did to our original flights out of ISP when they changed them, again without telling us. I just happened to check the site to see if the prices had gone down and those flights were gone and when I called they had rebooked us through Atlanta and we were loosing the full day going down and had to leave WDW at 8 AM on the return day.

>>>So my question is how could we be returning from somewhere we weren't scheduled to go?

Give them some time to get things straightened out. They and you don't want the "ressie" to vanish the moment one of the flights is cancelled, but rather better for it to remain in limbo for a grace period until someone on their reduced reservations staff gets around to plugging in a replacement flight.

If you don't like the replacment flight the least they could do is give you a free change to a replacement flight you do like a little.
