Has anyone ever had to change planes in cincinnati with delta before? We are another group who has been affected by delta's new schedule change for hartford and we have exactly 40 minutes from when we land until the next plane takes off. How large is the delta terminal and do you think we will make it with two small kids and an infant?

We have flown through Cincinnati on Delta and actually walked out one gate across the walkway to the next gate. Not sure if they are still the same but Cincinnati isn't a huge airport so you should have plenty of time.

When traveling through an unfamiliar terminal, I always go to their website to check it out. Everything is clearly marked, but I like to have some sort of a visual to have an idea of how far apart the gates are.

Usually from the Delta website, you can link to info for any of the terminals they use.

Delta has reduced the service in CVG to a bare mininum. Gates are all now pretty close together. It used to be very spread out so when you look on line you will see a lot of terminals... most of which are really now shuttered. :(

Thanks everyone. I am just so irritated because I paid about 100 extra to fly them to be on the same flight as other family members and now they do this. I did not think that it was so large and I had a feeling that we would be close to each other.

I have checked out some alternatives and it will cost me about 100 more to change to nonstop both ways on jet blue, which i may do because I still have to pay to check bags etc and this 100 will be eaten up quickly by delta fees. I was just trying to figure out if I should bother requesting the refund etc. I asked them if they could wave 1 baggage fee of 25 dollars and they said no way so I guess they would rather refund 950 dollars instead.

They have really cutback at CVG. I believe they have consolidated everything to concourse B so it would be really quick.

On the other thread you said your mom booked it. Did she use her Amex because I think that gets you free baggage on Delta. It's good for the "cardholder" and up to about 9 passengers on the same flight I think.

I think she said mom is also Medallion, which would give 2 free bags, assuming she's on the same reservation. The AMEX free bag would only apply if the cardholder is on the same reservation.

Agree with the other posters who said CVG is very easy to connect through. Even in its heyday with multiple terminals, you could easily make a 40 minute connection. Now that they are all consolidated into one this is no problem at all.

CVG is one of the smallest "major" airports in the country. And with the cutbacks, even smaller. While 40 minutes would be tough to accomplish in, say, Atlanta, it should be a piece of cake at CVG. Unfortunately, it is also usually much higher-priced than other airports within a 2-hour drive.

my mom booked the reservation and paid to get the extra miles, also because we had agreed that she would pay for the tickets since we are going on my dvc points. However, it is on 2 separate reservations because we are staying longer than she is so we do not get the perks. That is why I am considering changing.

you should be good :) no worries!! i'm not the biggest delta fan--but i live less than 10 minutes from the airport and it's the only non-stop... so i go with it :)

Unless you have refundable tickets, they won't be refunding ANYTHING to you if you change. Doesn't Delta have a $150 change fee? So you have to spend that and then you get the ticket price in CREDIT, not a straight refund, right?

You missed the OP's other thread, in which the OP mentioned that Delta canceled the nonstop they were on, and moved them to a connecting flight.
