I know I will get a Delta Amercian Express CC before our trip in June. $0 first year fee + free baggage:cool1:. I just cancel before the year is up.

So, the dilemma... if I log on to Delta (already a Skymiles member, but don't have a lot of miles) and follow the link to apply for the card, the offer is for 30K bonus miles as long as I spend $750 in the first three months.

However, if I follow a link from Travelocity, the offer is for 20K bonus miles after my first purchase (with no minimum purchase amount listed).

DW & I haven't used a CC in over a year, and I want to keep it that way. We use Debit card for everything. I don't like the idea of putting $750 onto credit (yes, I know, "pay it off when you get the bill"). I'd rather go buy a $5 lunch and get the 20K bonus.

So, the big question is whether anyone knows if I'm not eligible for the 20K bonus miles because I'm already a Skymiles (but not AmEx) member.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I was already a Skymiles member. I got the Gold AmEx back in July and I got 20,000 with the first purchase and 10,000 when I spent $750 in 3 months. I applied through the Delta website. One thing to consider - if you spend the $750, you will also get another 750 miles. I am really racking up the miles and I pay it off every month.

You are eligible. Skymiles is a free Delta program, it does not affect your eligibility for a new AMEX offer. Keep looking though, I came across a 45000 bonus offer the other day.
