I wondered if anyone has travelled by Delta recently, we are going from Edinburgh via Atlanta and just wondered what the flight was like

I havent travelled with them but i was due to do so until I changed to BMI. for the Edinburgh to Atlanta route I would expect them to use the 767-300er (as they only have the 400 on the Manchester to JFK i think) which isnt the newest of craft out there. Expect to find a front projecter in flight system with some ceiling screens as you move down. I have look and you may get the 767-400 US configure for the leg to MCO which is a big aircraft for that!

The seat plan is there with a bit more info on the IFE as stated above. Delta are not the best US carrier as that seems to go to Continental these days but they arent the worst at the moment so really when booking you should have been trying to get the connection times as number 1 priority (along with cost)

Their in flight page is here for you to have a look at.

On the whole they will get you from A-B with 31/32 in seat pitch (average) efficiently and look after you pretty reasonably on board. You booked them I presume because their flights are agressively priced so you do need to allow for this as i have covered above.

Have a great flight!! :thumbsup2

we are flying with them in march next yr.

a friend of mine has just returned from atlanta using them. he said that everything was ok - it's a flight, a couple of issues but nothing major and you get what you pay for.

cant really offer any other comments but will ask him again what his thoughts are.

We flew with Delta in 2004 from Gatwick via Atlanta to Orlando, on a Boeing 777. Check in was excellent - we were pulled out of line for a bag search and then ushered to the front of the business check in, even though we were economy - lovely! Seats onboard were fine, seat back entertainment great, service attentive, kids didn't complain once! Stop off in Atlanta was long enough for refreshments and stretch of the legs. We were a bit worried about Atlanta Hartsfield being so large but Delta's flight connection area was well signposted and simple to find - we claimed our bags and dropped them at the connection area within about 2 minutes of each desk - completely stress free.

Onward flight to Orlando took about an hour and was just fine...all in all no problems. We'd booked on Expedia so even got the seats we chose on all flights.

Just booked for March 2007 and would've used Delta but BA's current deal was too good to pass up

Enjoy!

Delta are excellent. Cant recommend them highly enough...

We had the misfortune to experience a family bereavement when we in Orlando a few years ago. In a bit of a state, we rushed to the airport...

The delta staff were brilliant and did their best to sort out flights for us with no extra charges. Superb....

Hi

We flew from EDI to ATL then onto TPA this year June 23rd it was ok Very basic plane though! kids not happy at having no TV's!!! we were delayed 3 hours in atlanta tho but that was just because it is such a huge airport! service was good and to honest the only thing was the delay and not having tv's behind each seat! ENJOY!! :wave2:

Thanks for all the information, I will be prepared for no TV's, hope we don't have a three hour dela tho
