Will a Delta strike lead to problems with Northwest flights "operated by Delta Air Lines"? Anyone with any insight on such a situation? Thanks! :)

Those flights will not operate.

Call NW IMMEDIATELY to get rebooked. Do NOT call Delta under any circumstances.

Prepare to be on the phone a long time.

Now personally, I think this will come to the exact same outcome of the NW "strike" a few weeks ago. While I feel for the pilots a JOB is better the NO job and at least here in Atlanta where lots of pilots live, there aren't a lot of "help wanted, airline pilot with 20 years experience" signs out!

I agree and now Delta is attacking the flight attendant's contracts and the pension plan. In my opinion, if they don't strike it would be a miracle.

I don't believe Delta pilots will strike because they know (1) a strike would end Delta and cost them their jobs and (2) the job market for experienced pilots is not that good right now, unless they want to take big pay and benefits cuts and start flying little commuter planes instead of the big jets.

Delta and the unions are posturing just like NWA did, just like United did, just like unions and companies do all the time. A lot of bluster and hot air is expended to try to force the other side into negotiations/accommodations.

The pilots don't want to lose everything but they also don't want to appear to just roll over for the company.

Well if they strike, then they had better polish those resumes. There won't be a job to go back to.... And the job market here in Atlant is a little soft right now.

I am in this boat. I have one way flights on Delta booked using NWA FF miles. If Delta were to strike, I would have to go back to NWA and beg for them to put us on Continental or NWA, though NWA doesn't fly all the way to Corpus Christi. To compound things, the rewards flights for my dates are gone, so who knows what is going to happen.

I will say that I think things will work out fine. I think my flights on Delta will go off in May as scheduled, but if they don't, I will have to work with NWA to get something done.
