I booked my trip and have a confirmation number for Delta.. I check my flights all the time (they have changed at least 4 times) anyway.. I dont have any plane tickets ?? I have never flown before.. does anyone know if you get actual tickets... or do you just check in at the airport and get a boarding pass ???

All you need is the confirmation # and your ID. No tickets. You can check in and print your boarding pass at home 24 hrs. or less before your flight.

Or if you can't print it at home, you can print it at the self service terminals they have available .. you just need the CC that you paid with.

Great thanks... one more stupid question.... If we do print our boarding passes at home and have checked luggage... We will still need to go to the Delta luggage check ??? and if we do end up with checked luggage..
Should we just wait and get our boarding passes from them ???
if we dont have to check any bags.. Do we go straight to security ??

If you don't print your boarding passes at home and do have checked luggage: You must check you and your luggage with either the SkyCap outside the terminal (if available) or inside at the counter or use a self-check kiosk (again, if available).
If you do print your boarding passes and do have checked luggage, you still need to check your luggage in at one of the above spots. There's really no advantage to printing your boarding pass if you have checked luggage.
If you don't print your boarding passes and don't have checked luggage, you still need to check in as above.
If you do print boarding passes and don't have checked luggage... I don't know. I've never flown with those conditions before :( But I think[/] you can just go directly to Security and show them your boarding pass and ID, and have you and your luggage scanned. Then you MUST check in with the Gate Agent when you get to the gate and the counter is staffed. Otherwise the airline won't know you're there - despite you having checked in from home - and may give away your seats.

This is correct, except I do not believe that it is a requirement that you check in with boarding gate staff. You did check in when you printed the boarding pass. I have never checked in at the gate when I have flown this way and haven't had a problem.

I check my reservarion frequently, too. I just checked and they are showing the seat i had confirmed as available. It is Delta. It looks like the time changed as well. Anyone have the seat they purchased now show as open?

Do this all the time - we never check luggage but thats for another thread.

Exactly same procedure applies. Either print out BP on computer before you arrive or when arriving at airport go to self-service kiosk ATM looking machine.

You can either swipe credit card, frequent flyer card, or type in confirmatiom number or numbers. It will ask questions and one is how many bags are you checking in. Say none and eventually you will get a BP.

Remember that to get thru security check point/x-ray area you need a boarding pass and govt issued ID. Itinerary print out is not acceptable any more (it actually once was early on).

Call 1-800-221-1212 and reconfirm your reservation. Basically that means that you are acknowledging the change. You still should have the seats and will get them back when you do this. Especially with Delta you should check your itinerary every two or three days and day before flight and right before you go to airport. We got to JFK and parked by Terminal two and flight was changed to terminal three that morning last month.
