Dell computer problems

I just purchased my first new computer ( now using old leftover freebie from previous job ) from Dell online. I got a good price and a great deal on Verizon DSL as it is just now available in this area. $14.95 per month/for one year.

Verizon had the hook up package at my door in two days and the computer is on it's way! I'm very excited about it, hoping that as in all products and companies there are problems.

I will be able to play VMK now! wooHOO!

Bought a computer with Dell in June by July it was broken...August and September were spent talking over seas to there tech department in India. By October after speaking with the BBB the computer was taken back by Dell and I got a full refund DELL SUCKS

I'm sorry to hear your Dad had to go through that, and to have the trouble around the same time is really sad.

Having said that, I'm not sure I 100% understand your beef - you fell behind on your payments but expected them to honor the warranty? And then when they follow their normal privacy/bad debtor rules you get upset with them? I hate to say it but I'm sure they hear every excuse under the sun as to what happened/why they couldn't pay/etc. and it's harder for them to believe the stories all the time. Dell is in the business to make money, and that is what they are going to try to do. Have you checked your agreement with them (have them send you a new copy?) Falling behind on your loan may terminate your warranty, which is what I think would be the case.

The shipping thing - eh - that you have a beef about, esp if you asked them to ship it to a certain location and they didn't.

The part about having to spend time on the phone to work out a 'problem'. It sounds more like a Windows problem if you were able to fix it over the phone (I could be wrong). You should be complaining to Bill Gates too...

Hard drives fail. It happens even on new computers. The brand new machine they tried to give me at the office last month wouldn't boot because the hard drive was toast. Brand new from the box.
