Delish NY Bakery

Looks wonderful, and there are so many great, Jewish-style pastries. (Rugelach, hamentaschen, etc.)

They'd have me if they were kosher. But alas, they're just "kosher-style."

Enjoy.

(Of course, I live in NY, so I shouldn't complain. Kevin, you need a delivery of H&H Bagels?)

Chad, while I appreciate the offer, I have found a suitable substitute nearby.

H&H bagels are the best....bar none, but I can have these baked so they are hot and ready when I get there.

Thanks for the offer.

Congrats on 4000 posts, Kevin!!

I wonder if they would deliver to the resorts? When we stay in a villa we usually bring some stuff from home in NJ, but it gets smushed and flattened. I would love to get a bag of nice bagels and fresh cream cheese delivered. We don't rent a car when we're there, so driving is out, lol. And I'm not crazy enough to take a taxi just for bagels ;)

I stopped on Friday on the way home from work and got a half dozen to take up to my parent's house on Saturday morning. We're all transplanted NJ folks missing a good weekend morning bagel. Kevin is absolutely right-these bagels are the real thing. It was like eating breakfast at our old house in NJ after Dad got back from the bakery. I got whole wheat, plain and French toast and they were terrific. I will be going back again this Friday to get more.

The owner is still a little skeptical about the power of the podcast, so make sure you do mention it. I can see why he's having a little trouble getting traffic, the store is set back, a little hard to see and with Whole Foods and another coffee place right there, he's got a lot of competition.

Hey Kevin I am glad you found your bagel!!I live in Ma and if you or anybody on the team in the need of any other northern yummies? Feel free and hit me up with a email and I will send a care package down.

I spread the word at the office and one of my co-workers went yesterday afternoon. She and her family are Florida natives and have never had a "real" bagel. She brought home a half dozen, and the family fell in love!!!

I've never.asked this before, but.....if you go to Delish will you please mention that you heard about them on the podcast?

I told the owner that I was going to talk about his business and he told me that none of his advertising had worked.

I told him that I thought this might, but I know he didn't believe me.

Thanks.

We stopped there on Sunday and picked up a half dozen. Mentioned the podcast to them, but got a blank smile in return so I'm not sure they understood the significance of the word-of-mouth business they are getting from this. Nonetheless, the bagels were good!

:worship: DH told me we HAD to try them. I have been so busy with a sick child and all that I need to catch up on the Podcast shows. I just finished a semi-frozen Lender's bagel. Anything is better than that. :rolleyes1

When at WDW we always pick-up some groceries in that area (either at the Walmart or Whole Foods. BTW - That Whole Foods is amazing!!!!! We popped in there on Thanksgiving to pick-up a few things. I was like a kid in a candy store. DH and I are "foodies". What can I say? ).

:thumbsup2 We will definitely mention you when we pop in THIS Sunday.

While you are at Delish, pick up one of their fudge brownies. Bring it home, zap it in the microwave for 20 seconds and then put some ice cream on top. :cloud9:

I just received an email from Delish saying it would cost $85 for the next day delivery of their bagels. Wow! I had no idea it was that much.

back in prehistoric times, when DH and i lived in manhattan, sunday morning meant a walk up broadway to H&H, then a few hours over the NY Times...

memories...

My wife used to do the exact same thing with her father on Sunday morning. I assume that was a common trek for Upper West Siders.

somewhat less common, when DH had to be in his office (in the world trade center) on sunday morning, we'd take the train down, he'd do whatever it was he had to do in his office, then we'd WALK back from the WTC to our apartment on 72nd street...(usually with a pit stop at my office in rockefeller center)

now THAT was a trek... :goodvibes

Whoa. The only person I know who did that trek was my mother-in-law on the morning of 9/11. (She went from World Financial Center to 83rd Street)

My wife is totally hooked on the place..... and we haven't even been there yet!!! I just showed her their website, and she was just amazed at what they had on their menu. She's originally from NY; and ever since we moved down to FL a few years ago, there are certain things she's always on the lookout for. We finally found a great pizza place that's worthy of being really NY style. And so far anyway, she might have finally found a great bakery (I gotta admit, she had some nice ones near her house in NY). The only thing left now is a great diner. :thumbsup2

well.....if i had to choose between a great diner and living near WDW...
i'm sure you can guess the answer... :goodvibes
