Maybe because only one(I think) country is actually still run by their host country? But it didn't seem that much different to me.

I thought this was purposeful. My understanding was that Disney didn't want any governments involved because they didn't ever want it to be political. They made the exception for Morocco because their King was so into the idea of having Morocco be a part of the World Showcase and really understood the "Disney" aspect of it. At least, that's what we were told on the Hidden Treasures of the World Showcase tour.

The countries of World Showcase have a lot of input into what is included in their pavilion, and they still help pay for upkeep and maintenance. They were never supposed to "own" the pavilions.

gee- sorry, I didn't really mean to cause that much strong feeling! I can't post much this week as I am on a slow dial up connnection. Perhaps the title should have been 'the homogenization of WS' as that would have caused less feeling.

Pls lock this thread and I'll start a new one next week with details - sorry if it's such a sore subject, but there have been changes that do impact the feel of the place.

And change is not always a bad thing....

So just lock the post and next week I'll share my thoughts.

Thanks
