Until the AP is activated, you won't be able to use it for discounts

When prices go up on the website for Hhn tix, you can call sales and buy the discounted AP Hhn over the phone

They will ask the order number you received when you purchased the AP and date
They will look it up and let you purchase Hhn tix w/ AP discounted price

I had to go that route after I bought my AP months before activating it
Did get the AP discount for Hhn tix over the phone

Do you know if I'd be able to do the same with a hotel package? I thought you could book those beforehand, as long as you had an AP at check in. I guess I could book it for December when I go in September if I needed to.

are you trying to book on line or by phone?

if you book by phone, you would give date you bought the ap and the confirmation number.
the tm can look that purchase up and see you have paid in full for the ap.

the booking for a package at the discounted rate should go through then.
I mean, they have their money for that ap already, they know you will be activating it so you can have admission into the parks.

when i have booked my room only, on line before, i put in APH in the promo box to get the info on charges and availability. (99% of the time, i book by phone)
I assumed you could book the APH prior to having bought it.
As long as you activate the ap voucher in person, you show the real ap at the hotel desk so you keep your ap discount on the room.

for a package, i don't know it you have to put in your ID and PIN number when you book online.

you could do a few things.
call the ap hotline and ask them.

call reservation number and ask them

the way i am reading your question is you have a voucher and want to book a package.
but, it is not going through until you activate your ap.

is that the situation you are in now?

or maybe you have not booked a package yet and wondering if it can be done with only the voucher....

i don't book packages as you need to buy tickets with a package.
if you have the ap, you don't need tickets.

I didn't try to book it yet, but on my AP discounts page is an AP room only Harry Potter package when I go to the next page there's no button to book though. I wasn't sure if AP offers were always like that or if usually there's a button, or if that was because mine wasn't activated. When we booked a regular package last year I was able to just pick my hotel and book, but Ill just call for this offer.

Is this what you are referring to? I think you need to call.

Make sure you check what the rate would be without the package by using the code APH on the hotel booking page. It might be cheaper.

Yes that's the one! I just checked with the APH code and nothing comes up for December just the standard room rate of $157. I'll call them after work, and book it.

AP rates aren't out for December yet. What hotel are you interested in?

The price would be per person in the room so it would be number of peeps by that $157 is tax per night
If you have more than two adults on the ressie, there is an extra surcharge

If you book now at the regular price and AP rate comes out later, you can modify the rate

Prices will be higher for some dates in December

But there is no guarentee you would get the AP discount until it is released

So think twice before booking it at rake rate in advance

Cabana Bay but that offer is through December 18 according to my offers page. (Which leads to the page you linked in).

I was going to wait to book but that offer comes up from $79 a night a person through December 18. We're doing 3 nights at Cabana Bay. December 14-17, so I figured I'd just book it now. It doesn't look like there's any more information than that online though.

Remember that if you book a package, there are fees if you cancel or change it. Make sure you read all the fine print before you book. At least with room only, there are no cancel or change fees until 6 days before check-in.

I'll have to ask when I call since there really isn't much about it online. We did book a package last time though for HHN, and we thought it worked out well.

It can be great as long as you don't want to change anything. We regularly get people who book a package and then come back here and complain that Universal is ripping them off by charging them $50 to make changes, when it is clearly stated in their contract that this is the case.

We just want everyone to be forewarned.

Listen to damo
Packages and penalties make peeps weep when they get stuck with it

Sounds like you've done your home
Work and accept UO hotel policies

Might as well go for it!
