Delayed Release of FastPass + for FOP?

Wasnt sure if anyone has seen this before. I have been religiously checking fast passes for flight of passage. I was able to snag one for 5:50 pm one day, and have been checking to modify it to an earlier time. Today, about 45 days out from my trip, there were tons of FOP fast passes in my Disney experience for that date. It makes me think of one of two things1) this is too good to be true and my new fast pass will be cancelled or (2) is disney delaying the release of all fast passes for this ride to ensure others can book it?? Any thoughts?

I dunno but I just got 4 for my trip in 2 weeks AND for over thanksgiving week!!!! Since I just made these FP for thanksgiving a couple days ago and I know they weren't available then! But I do wonder about a delayed release as I've seen it before. Got SDMT when it was new at less than 30 days out and same for Anna&Elsa M&G when it was at MK at way less than 30 days (was offsite for that trip)

Well my thoughts are first maybe making up for the hurricanes, second trying to get people to come back since most have changed or cancelled previous plans, third maybe multiple cancellations from vacationers and now they are releasing them or something is up?? But why is it that finding a room is still very difficult??

I think it's because the standby line has been below 2 hours majority of the time recently so they are able to release more FP + times. Plus AK closing hours went from 7pm to 9pm for October. I'm enjoying the pixie dust. I got both Ohana for dinner and morning FOP FP this morning. I'm on cloud 9.

When park hours are extended then new FP's are released. These FP's won't be deleted and there's never been any evidence to suggest they hold any FP's until a specific date

Right. They increased hours for October, therefore more FP+ bandwidth is now present. I don't think there's anything more to it than that.

There were a ton released (or at least suddenly available) in November and I don't believe they have extended any hours--I know they haven't for the week I'm there and suddenly both days I checked I could have gotten any hour of the day. It's a puzzlement.

I am at AK now. The FoP standby line was all the way to Africa. Right now wait time is 145 for FoP and 105 NRJ. It just rained for at least an hour starting at 4. All the other non pandora rides are less than 20 minutes

Nothing more than they revaluated the stand by to FP ratios and dumped more FP in the bucket.

Same exact thing happened last June over at Epcot for FEA

November FP for FOP just went nuts yesterday and continuing today. I can literally get any time of day for my week.

Keep in mind also that many people at 45-60 days out are reconciling their ADRs (most of which were done at 180 days) with their FPs (done at 60 days). There can be a lot of activity in that window - and a great time to find both ADRs and FPs that weren't previously available.

As an aside - I was there last week and rode FoP a couple of days at RD. I was surprised with how few FPs I saw coming through the line in the early morning (and everyone's comments about the difficulty of getting morning FPs). If Disney is releasing more FPs as the standby line becomes more manageable, then all the better.

I can confirm this.

I just signed onto MDE and literally anytime is available for FOP during pretty much any day.

Is this a glitch?

Not a glitch. They loaded new FP for both rides 2 days ago. It's something that happens. As I posted, they did the same thing for our June trip for FEA. All the sudden everyday had FP available for all times when they'd previously been all gone.

For reasons only some number cruncher knows it must be determined they can fit more FP riders in per hour than they had been allowing. Plus they increased hours and that would adjust schedules somewhat. But that didn't account for all the additional FP. That has to be from more allowed per hour

My May 11th trip had this happen. I checked daily for FEA since we were only spending the morning there. And just weeks before going, tons of FEA opened up. I was able to get 3 for 11:30AM!!! It was such a nice surprise!!!
So, hope all get what they want!!

I'm curious to see the impact on the standby line for NRJ at rope drop if more people will be riding FoP with a FP.
